BEING A TRU AND DEDICATED READING OF E LYNN HARRIS AND JAMES HARDY, THIS BOOK WAS ONE OF THE MOST RIVITING BOOKS I HAVE READ FOR THE YEAR........ WELL WRITTEN AND TRUTHFULLY TOLD THIS STORY BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES ON HOW LIFE AND LOVE CAN MAKE ALOT OF THINGS REALITY....... THIS BOOK WILL REALLY OPEN UR EYES AS HOW SAME GENDER REALATIONSHIPS REALLY ARE NO DIFFRENT FOR OPPOSITE GENDER RELATIONSHIP....

I just finished reading 'I'm On My Way' today, poolside. This book is a realistic display of how some Black LGBT men act in their everyday lives, especially in friendships and relationships. You'll notice that the author looks at the story from the three main characters angles and weaves them perfectly. Their opinions of each other's actions, their thoughts on themselves, and inner emotions are expression in intimate first person dialogue. The only negatives (in my opinion) is that sometimes the book seems to highlight and expand on events that aren't that propelling. It also rushes to get to a point in some cases. Bottom line: This book is an excellent inspirational read for anyone who feels the need to explore the inner thoughts of Same Gender Loving Black Men, but be careful...you may walk away with a greater and more in depth appreciation of yourself (Be sure to read the author's notes after the book's end...)

Add this book to your must read books for 2004. Well written tale of black men looking, finding, and accepting love. The story was well paced, detailed and has some very funny moments, but also gets a little serious and thought-provoking. Mr. David is definitely a talented writer, one to watch out for in the future. I recommend!!

THIS FIRST NOVEL BY CHRISTOPHER DAVID IS A TOUCHING,HONEST POTRAYAL OF THE OFTEN TABOO SUBJECT OF BLACK MEN LOVING MEN. THE STYLE IS EASY READING AND MAKES YOU FEEL WHAT THE WRITER IS FEELING. I LOOK FOWARD TO BOOK NUMBER TWO.
