Overview

Imager's Battalion (Imager Portfolio Series #6) by L. E. Modesitt Jr.

The sequel to the New York Times bestselling Princeps, L.E. Modesitt's Imager's Battalion follows magical hero Quaeryt as he leads history's first Imager fighting force into war. Given the rank of subcommander by his wife's brother, Lord Bhayar, the ruler of Telaryn, Quaeryt joins an invading army into the hostile land of Bovaria, in retaliation for Bovaria's attempted annexation of Telaryn. But Quaeryt has his own agenda in doing Bhayar's bidding: to legitimize Imagers in the hearts and minds of all men, by demonstrating their value as heroes as he leads his battalion into one costly battle after another.

Making matters worse, court intrigues pursue Quaeryt even to the front lines of the conflict, as the Imager's enemies continue to plot against him.

I really enjoy this series. This author never disappoints and I can hardly wait the next book to come in January. I have many, many books by this author and have enjoyed each and every one.

I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the previous editions in this series. I am a long time fan of Modesitt's books and this one is as good as his previous efforts. It appears from the ending in this book that there will be more coming. I certainly hope so and look forward to reading them.

The book is excellent. I object to paying as much for an electronic copy as for a hardcover however. Someone is being greedy.

A great read and addition to the "Imager" series. As usual, hated to see the last page... always eager for more. I recommend both this book and the entire series.

Q is drawn further in to battle and we are sitting in as the conflict that will either make or break the imagers progresses. Finely spun is the tale that with victory comes pain and sadness. The author leaves us waiting for him to bring forth the next part of the tale of our favorite "lost ones". Kudos on such a wonderful woven adventure.

Excellent read for Imager fans, with hints of another book (I hope) to tie this series into the first Imager series...Not a good entry into the series (starting at the beginning is best), but highly satisfying.
