'Imagining the future' is one such story. It is the story of a Namibian woman, but also the story of countless ordinary Namibians and their personal suffering in times of great hardship. It is also the story of prof Fumanti, a social anthropologist, personal engagement with this and other stories and his own predicament as to how best represent these accounts.

About the Author
Dr. Mattia Fumanti is a social anthropologist. He has conducted anthropological research in Namibia, Ghana and London and has published several edited volumes and articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr Fumanti has an interest in the exploration of new research methodologies and ethnographic writing. He has been working in particular in the relationship between ethnography, art and visual media. Dr. Fumanti teaches at the University of St Andrews.
