This book is great! It has the necessary parts. Romance, action, and a bit of sci-fi! The way these characters care for each other and protect one another is nice to read. It was a book I just couldn't put down! If your looking for a book that has all those qualities, this is it!
I was lucky enough to be one of the authors at the Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago over the weekend and I bought this book. The cover is what initially attracted me. I'm sitting in my booth all day, staring at this creepy book cover and I think, "I gotta check this out". I buy it Saturday night after the first day of the festival. I am completely exhausted after the event, but can't help picking this book up and start reading it at my hotel. I read the first 3 chapters that night and the only reason I stopped reading, was because I had to get up early the next morning for the second day of the Festival. Once I returned to my hotel Sunday night, I picked it back up and read and read until it was done. I loved it! I like to read all genres and this book pretty much had it all covered; romance, paranormal, action, teen angst, tragedy. You don't have to be a teenager to like it or to relate to it because at some time or another, we've all felt like an outsider. There was some great humor in it with wonderfully drawn characters, all interseting and different. And of course, the romance. At some parts, I couldn't stop myself from smiling. The thing I like most about this book was the excitement of starting a new life and the promise that could bring to someone. I felt the same "awe factor" while reading the first Harry Potter book because that is where Harry first learns he's a wizard and then goes off to school at Hogwarts. I am so glad I had the booth that I did at the Festival so I could find this little gem. I am truly looking forward to the next book in the series.
