This has been one of the best books I've read so far. I loved the characters, the story was great. It was hard not to cry on what Holly went thru. I can't wait to see what happens on the next book. It does end in a semi cliffhanger..

This was a great read. It started off really slow, I almost gave up on it, but surprisingly, it became extremely intense with every page. I could not put it down. I was completely captivated. The storyline was amazing. I enjoyed the characters and the chemistry and love between them. It was really an amazing book. I had to purchase the next one. Gtx

I want to start this review with a warning. Imperfect Love is the first book in a three part series and there is a major cliffhanger at the end of this book. Once I finished this book, around 10:00 pm, I immediately bought the second book and stayed up way too late finishing it. And then had a restless dream about the second book. Needless to say, I was yawning at my desk the next day. I also had a lot of issues with the second book and this review was difficult to write because the characterization of Holly and Jake was changed so much between book one and two, based on their life events. However, I’m going to try to limit my views of the second book, and write a fair review of Imperfect Love. Imperfect Love follows Holly, a young woman who just discovered that her fiance is cheating on her. After calling over the wedding and moving in with a friend, she goes to a camping trip/concert weekend with her friends and meets Jake, a young doctor in training. The majority of Imperfect Love follows the development of Holly and Jake’s relationship and how quickly they fall head over heels for each other. They both have other commitments in their lives, though it’s mostly Jake’s school and family, but they quickly balance that and make time for each other. All in all, the majority of this book is sweet although the writing was a little awkward at times. The second half of the book was there everything hits the fan. Jake’s family, his mother in particular, is extremely involved in his life. For example, the first time she meet Holly, she asked her to go on birth control. There’s overbearing mothers and then there’s Jake’s mom. Since the description of the book reveals this, Holly becomes pregnant. This complete changes the dynamic of the rest of the book and shapes the rest of the series. While honestly, this was nowhere near the best book I’ve ever read, I will give it credit for keeping me hooked to the extent which I immediately bought the next book and stayed up all night reading the series. And knowing me, even after my problems with the second book, I’ll probably buy it when it’s released.

I ended up liking this book but it was a tough road to get there. The first 40-50% of the book just dragged. I am glad I stuck with it because the ending (a cliffhanger) was really interesting. One thing that bothered me was the 3rd person viewpoint- I found it hard to be invested with the characters with that structure. And their names were used so much- felt like that could have been edited some. Overall a good read. Will probably pick up the next in the series. This book is a tear jerker just a warning. It had me smiling one minute and crying my eyes out the next. Keep the tissues close while reading this because you'll need them. Holly Scallanger at the beginning of this story is a little but naïve, thinks she has the perfect future ahead of her only finding out this isn't the case. She finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her and she leaves him. Her best friend supports her during the times where she's not sure if she did the right thing or not. She's in her anger phase when her friends Bernie and Leo decide its time for her to put herself back out in the dating world. After one disaster of a first date she tells Bernie that she is done and not ready to move forward yet. That all changes when she meets Jake. Jake Peters is a really nice guy that everyone loves and all the women want to be with. Bernie and Leo push her towards him telling her it is perfect for her to have her second attempt in the dating pool. Jake is almost finished with medical school and comes from a well off family. His mother is a control freak. She doesn't want any of her children dating while in school. Jake tries to keep his relationship with Holly from his family which isn't something he can do when everyone knows his family. Word gets back to his mother and she wants to meet Holly. His family welcomes her warmly and Holly thinks everyone was exaggerating about his mother. She was completely wrong. This book will have your emotions twisting at every turn yet you can't help but keep turning the pages. You can't help but admire the strength Holly has with everything she endured in this story. I cried so much in this book I had to wait to do my review because it was such an emotional story. I can't wait for the next installment to this series to find out what's in store for Holly. This was a new author to me and after reading this book I will definitely be reading more of her stories. Such an amazing story teller makes you feel for her characters as though they were your own friends. Another 5 star read for me

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I ended up loving it and can't wait for the next book to come out in the series. I would definitely recommend that you read this book from this author. The author did a great job writing this story. There were some slow parts in the book. The book started out rather predictable, a typical love story that you would expect from a romance novel but the ending was anything but that. The book grabbed my attention midway through and I couldn't put it down. The author dived into each of the characters and you felt like you really got to know the main characters, Holly and Jake. Jake is a gorgeous med student and Holly is a beautiful, lovely young woman. I loved reading about a few of their choices and decisions they made along the way in their relationship. Holly was a strong character who grew throughout the book. There were parts of the book that the author did a great job of making seem real, such as her pregnancy troubles and there were parts that dragged on, like the overnight trip to Bands of the World Bash in the beginning of the book. I feel like I can't talk to much about the book without giving away the entire plot of the book. Should you read this book? Absolutely, but beware you'll be hooked for reading the next book in the series. You'll want answers to questions that went unanswered. What a cliffhanger!! I loved the book and I hope they release the second book very soon.

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review I liked this book. This book had a good storyline and it did leave me wanting to know more at the end, however, I did feel Holly and Jake were a bit immature for being twenty something adults. My biggest hang up about this book was that I felt it was a bit unrealistic that both wanted to have unprotected sex despite her first relationship cheated on her, him being a med student and they just started dating. Of course the result of that was the reason for the drama and cliffhanger at the end. I still liked the book enough to want to read the next in the series.

Donna had always been a thorn in Holly's side. One week before Holly's wedding, Donna slept with her fiance Brandon. While away with friends, Holly met a good looking guy named Jake. The story was great, although I happily ever after. This story, in some ways. It made me cry in spots and stories have to be very special to do that to me. The plot and story were great as were the characters. What Holly went though and came out in the end made me love her. I highly recommend it. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review

excellent turn around ending Quote of the book ~ "miracles do happen. But, there are times when they don't. Where the latter is concerned, one has to be strong enough to let go." I love this author and have reviewed many of her books. I was interested to see how she would do in this new genre and I wasn't sure what I would say about this book while I was reading it. Honesty has always been key to me so I will have to say that the book started out too slow, too sweet, too predictable and almost boring. I put it down quite a few times and finally out of respect to the author decided to finish reading it. Bam, it happened I saw the writing style that grabbed my interest at about chapter 23. Now I was knee deep in the book and the pages started to develop into a story that would grab a readers interest. It became real and believable. I cried, screamed with frustration and disappointment and finally really got angry with Jake, his family and controlling people. All these emotions created a dramatic ending to this book and I look forward to reading the second book of this series. Because of the slow start I would of given it a 3 but for the excellent turn around ending I give it a 4. I was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion via Fire Quill Publishing.

When Holly finds out the her soon to be husband has cheated on her, she does the right thing and leaves his sorry butt. While he is trying to manipulate her into coming back, Holly realizes that he was a cheater all along. After several months of wallowing in self pity, she now finds herself going away for the weekend with her best friends Bernie and her husband Leo. When they get to a camp ground, she can't believe she sees Josie, who is her ex-finance's cousin. The weekend turns out fun but leaving Holly with a fractured hand when she punched Stewart, a friend of Leo's, that she went on one date with and he wanted more and when she said no he called her names, so she punched him. When it was Jake that took her the the E.R., Holly was mesmerized by his good looks and he was the perfect gentleman. They seemed to be drawn to each other and the sparks would fly. After that weekend, Jake couldn't stay away from Holly. Although she would only see him on the weekends, since he was training to be a doctor. Turns out his whole family was a doctor of some sort. When Holly finally met his family, she loved them all, even his mother who had a weird request for her. So when she passed out at a local restaurant, Jake took her straight to the hospital. And surprise to them all when they found out she was pregnant. Jake and his father were happy to the point of crying during the ultrasound. His mother would be a different story, when she found out. Well his mother didn't take it so well and when Holly went to meet Jake at his mother's so they could all talk, Jake wasn't there but his mother told Holly his feelings. When Holly finally realized that she was saying that Jake wanted her to abort their baby, Holly left his mother's, packed her clothes and went to the only person that could help, her father whom she hadn't seem in over 10 years. She cut all contact with Bernie and wanted nothing to do with Jake or his family every again. This story does start off a little slow but what part of hear-break is ever easy. And the pain that Holly will go through will have you crying like a baby. This story is full of heartache, pain, love, fun, devastation and loss. I loved everything about it and can't wait for the next part of the story. **Copy provided by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review**

Breaking off her wedding one before the big event was a risk, but Holly needed to do it. She would not be manipulated by that lying, cheating, poor excuse of a man. She still loves him so how could she forget him? After months of wallowing in her self pity, her best friend Bernie drags her out camping. Where she meets Jake. And he is hot as hell! A few drinks with her ex's cousin has her making promises she isn't she can keep. After that brings a world wind romance filled with lots of HOT sex! But the ending of this book? Have your tissues ready. And not just one, you'll need the box. The ending of this book made me want to give this book 5 stars because there were so many feels the last 25% or so with so many big fat alligator tears! Ugh! But I just couldn't bring myself to 5 stars because I felt as though the relationship between Jake and Holly dragged on and on up until THAT moment. Another thing that bothered me was that the author had all the supporting characters calling Jake's mom a crazy psycho. But, you don't see any of that in the book until THAT moment. So, what makes her a crazy psycho?? Because she wants her kids to concentrate on their studies and be the best they can be? All moms want that for their kids. I felt like this book went from "everything is fine" to "I have to get out of here" in one page. Where was the build up for THAT moment? The book does not end with the HEA everyone hopes for, but instead there's a bittersweet ending with life moving forward. Just have your box of tissues ready at the end. *ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

Honestly, the beginning of this story felt off BUT by 60% I was completely engrossed in Holly and Jakes love story and the characters started to work out and seemed better. I really love how Holly grows throughout everything she has to deal with. She learns forgiveness, she becomes stronger and even finds her purpose. I really loved Holly's character by the end of the book.I pretty much love all of the characters, the interactions all seem genuine and the dialog will make you laugh... and cry... and mad! Overall, I highly recommend this book especially to those who love contemporary romance. The novel may begin a little slow but it’s well worth the wait. I will definitely be reading the next book. *I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.*
