A New Sexy Contemporary Romance from Clare James that can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the Impossible Love Series.
Falling for your sister’s nemesis?
Only a low-life dog would do something like that, right? And that ain’t me, not anymore. I mean here I am, trying to be a stand-up guy for once in my freaking life—I’m finally making smart decisions, helping my little sister, and getting my shit together.
For once, things are finally going my way…until Jenna shows up.
As soon as I meet her, I know she’s the enemy. I’ve heard enough to understand that she’s off limits. Banned. Forbidden. Not for me!
She’s the bad girl I have to stay away from if I want to keep my family intact. So I try. Trust me, I REALLY try. But it’s not as easy as you’d think, and surprisingly, I discover that she’s not as bad as everyone says.
Of course, she’s difficult, selfish, and a royal pain in the ass, but she’s also gorgeous, smart, kind, and…well, let’s just say I am that low-life dog. Traitor. Turncoat. And the world’s shittiest brother.

Jenna’s reaction to her problems in the past was to become the ultimate mean girl. One of her targets was Tabitha who just happens to be the sister to Matt. Now Matt has moved across from her and the two find themselves wanting more from each other. Matt knows he cannot give in to his desires as that would make Tabitha unhappy. Plus, he is finally on track to graduate and enter his chosen career field. But Jenna and her dogs are appealing. Jenna knows that she cannot get involved with Matt either but what can she do when thoughts of him keep her up at night. Never be Tamed was a fun book to read. Fast paced and written in alternating points of view, Never Be Tamed will capture you on the first page with the list of why dogs are better. It just keeps getting better with humorous encounters and dogs interfering. Matt turns out to be quite honorable and helps Jenna with the dogs in more ways than one. Jenna is not really the mean girl she had become. She does regret her actions and has no clue how to fix things. To protect herself, she remains aloof on campus, acting out the part she gave herself. Jump on for the ride and see how these two seemingly incompatible individuals work out love and romance. With a little help from the dogs, you will be glad you did.
This is the sixth book in the Enemies-to-Lovers series and it features Michael Nelson and Jenna Peterson. It all started with the accidental death of Jenna's brother Ben. That tragedy changed a lot of people and not for the better. It created a dual persona for Jenna. Not a mentally unstable one but just two sides of her that she uses to deal with the grief and guilt. The public mean girl and the private nice, sweet, caring girl. Michael has seen both and he wants the sweet girl. How does he get the sweet girl when his sister has been on the receiving end of the mean girl? I love that Tabby didn't instantly forgive but didn't instantly say no either. It's hard to reconcile the mean girl with the sweet girl. Fantastic story line! The romance was so strong that without meaning to, it overshadowed the rest of the story. That I could be so sucked into the romance that I don't give much thought to what else is happening. Great writing!
