Improving the representation of minorities and females at the highest corporate levels is considered to be a great method of improving diversity at lower corporate levels. While many companies desire and need increased diversity, they often lack a clear understanding of why diversity is important and how best to improve diversity. Business pressures are thought to contrast with diversity objectives. This literature review examines sources which help explain the challenges, benefits, and practices for improving diversity at the corporate executive level.
