This book was ok. The cover is not very interesting, but the title is catchy enough. If you don't know what an idiom is, you might be curious and look inside the cover. However, when you open the book, the material appears dated. This might be forgivable if not for the uninteresting type font and the black and white illustrations. The information on idioms is nothing special. The idioms in this book are common enough in our society for most people (and children) to know what they mean. The author offers a brief breakdown of the idiom (or how it may have come to be used), but, again, because they are so common, there is little new information for today's reader. Overall, this is a decent read if you have a little time to kill, but if you are looking for enlightening fair that will "tickle your funnybone" (or that of your kiddos), pass on this. You would, no doubt, have more fun if you sat down with paper and pen and created your own.
