The story revolves around Hanee, a young girl who was pulled into a diffrent world, and Drake, a pointy eared guy who also, like Hanee, is from anouther world. In this world they are given the power to weild 'In Dream Cards'. These cards contain spells and beasts they use to battle evil monsters. Hanee is given control over a water 'spirit' so to speak, Drake weilds fire. Drake was in this place before Hanee, and is thusly very skilled with his array of powerful fire cards. Hanee follows Drake in the hopes of finding a way home, though Drake himself claims he doesn't want to go home and only wants revenge on the monsters which roam the land. Not much is revealed about Drake's past in this volume, but it's packed with magical action and occasional comedy. While Drake first comes off as somewhat cold, he has very human moments and he has an array of facial reactions to the happenings of the story. He grows on you very quickly. Hanee comes off as the opposite of his personality, she's friendly and perky, and her large eyes tell you exactly how she feels in each pannel. Overall it has a CardCapter vibe, without the kiddish feel to it. (I say this partly because of the occasional unnessessary angle views on Hanee's breasts) The art is consistant and vivid and I recomend it for fans of magical monsters and sword slinging action. Or just a fan of cocky elf boys. A fun read. You'll enjoy it.
