"In Dreams Forgotten" is the second book in Tracie's Golden Gate Secrets. Fans of Christian historical romance will not be disappointed with this authors book. Tracie has a gift for incredible storytelling. This is a stand alone book, as are all of Tracie's books. But I was glad that I had read In Places Hidden first. It introduced me to these characters and gave me some background information, I found helpful. The story-line is mainly about Judith Gladstone and Caleb Coulter. We have all of the previous characters, plus a few new ones, who you will either love or love to hate. What an ability Tracie is gifted with, to make a setting come to life. Judith finds herself part of one of the wealthiest families in San Francisco. Here is the description of the mansion seen by Caleb for the first time. "Caleb parked his car and took a moment to marvel at the gleaming limestone masonry. The Beaux-Arts home sported eight white marble columns with Corinthian capitals on the main part of the two-story, hip-roofed house. The grand entryway was arched with an intricately detailed canopy molding. The two sets of floor-to-ceiling windows that graced either side of the entry were also trimmed in elaborately carved shields and swags. To each side of those, the east and west wings of the house jutted out." It is almost as if you are standing next to Caleb observing the mansion too. The Golden Gate Secrets series takes place in early 1900. The great earth quack and fires of San Francisco are written into her story. She makes you experience what many must have gone through during this catastrophe. One of my favorite lines to the story ..."Things happen to change how we feel about people. Love is not a guaranteed emotion. The love shared between a man and woman requires constant work--nurturing. If not, it dies." What a true statement. I totally enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone loving Christian Historical Fiction.

Second book in the Golden Gate series, set in the early 1900s San Francisco. A time of corruption and danger for those going against the men in control of crime in the city. Judith had come to town with Camri and Kenzie, nearly broke and having lost her family with the hope of finding an Aunt she had never known about. After a long search what she found was nothing she could have imagined, and puts her life in danger. Caleb has returned after being shanghaied and is rebuilding his life. The five journey together supporting each other as they get busy with their lives and early women's rights. Wonderful message of salvation. This is a fantastic series for close relationships between friends. Not all families are close, especially when money is involved. Quote: It was a good reminder that earthly treasures weren’t meant for eternity. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher and Netgalley book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I enjoyed every moment of this book. Peterson kept taking me totally by surprise. There was no way I could guess what was going to happen next, and that is the best kind of story. Set in the early 1900’s in San Francisco times were much different than they are today. Like most cities there were those who were upper class wealthy and those who worked hard for a living. In Dreams Forgotten we continue to follow Camrianne, Judith, and Kenzie as they work together to find what brought each of them to San Francisco in the first place. In the first book, In Places Hidden, Camri is searching for her brother who went missing. If you haven’t read that book I suggest you do, in fact, you might as well just get all three in the series. You can also read this as a stand alone, but I really enjoyed the others as well. This story focuses on Judith and her quest to find her Aunt. All she has is a letter from her deceased mother with a name and city, but she’s hoping that’s enough. Caleb Coulter is just the man to get the job done, the question is will he help her? Being a lawyer keeps him busy, and Judith doesn’t want to seem selfish, but she also wants to find the only family she has left. In a series on unexpected twists and turns it may just be more than she bargained for. Someone wants her out of the picture, and her friends only want her to be safe and happy. Can everyone agree? Or will circumstances out of their control force their hands? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical Romance. You will find yourself turning the pages and holding your breath to find out what happens next. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, and seeing them grow throughout their struggles. I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers and Netgalley and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is the second book in the series. This book focuses mainly on Judith. Judith is looking for her aunt but finds something quite unexpected. The copy I read was an advanced reader copy. The editing was well done with a few errors that will probably be corrected in the completed version. This review is done on my own, no strings attached. The story flowed well, it gave a glimpse of San Francisco in that time period but mainly focused on Judith and her friends. The characters were quite well developed and gave life to the book. The book is in the Christian fiction category but is not preachy at all. I enjoy reading Tracie Peterson books and this one did not disappoint. If you like historical fiction, you will enjoy this book.

This is the second in the Golden Gate Series. In the first book, Camri was looking for her brother Caleb. And in this book, Judith is trying to find an aunt she didn't know existed until after her parents had died. It's a little hard for m to write too much about this book without giving away any spoilers. I like Tracie Peterson and her books and this one didn't fail me. It's the fairly typical boy/girl romance, but yet there are some unexpected twists and turns, like how exactly does Judith go from being a poor rancher's daughter to being extremely rich? I just really enjoyed the book and am now looking forward to the next book, which I'm sure should be coming out about Kenzie, the third friend. One more thing I want to say about this book and about Judith, in particular. Judith was not raised in a Christian home. Yes, they said grace before meals, but that is about all Judith knew in s a spiritual sense. So becoming friends with Christians and then giving her life to Jesus made a huge impact in her life. While she always felt that the emptiness in her heart was because she had no family, she realized that it had more to do with God than family. I was impressed with her level of commitment and desire to follow God's ways. I received this book on NetGalley and was not required to write a positive review.

In Dreams Forgotten is the second book in Peterson's Golden Gate Secrets series. It is set in the early 1900s San Francisco. In the first book the mystery of Camri Coulter's missing brother is solved. This book focuses on the search for Judith Gladstone's aunt and any other living relatives that she and her friends could locate. Their search has unexpected results and consequences, ones that will take readers by surprise and keep them engaged with the story. Judith's search is not limited to her family, she is also searching for God, His will, and a closer relationship with Him. Camri's brother, Caleb, becomes her mentor on this quest, and they discover a relationship growing between them as well. Tracie Peterson's books always provide an entertaining read. She develops characters that charm their way into her readers' hearts. Peterson includes Christian insights in a way that compliments the story without ever appearing forced. I thank NetGalley and Bethany House for providing me with a copy of In Dreams Forgotten in exchange for my honest review. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no monetary compensation.
