Sara Minks is a soldier whose experience in Iraq was clouded by the actions of corrupt leadership. Her story is shared by many women in the military. Often, these stories are swept under the carpet. In this book, Minks chronicles her journey and lets you decide. What would you do about military abuse? Look the other way? Report it and hope something is done? Would you follow through, even if it means you break the unspoken code of silence that allows for the systemic reproduction of corruption?
Sara Minks currently lives in Tacoma, Washington. The inspiration behind Inside the Wire is her desire to share her story, and the hope that female soldiers in the military will stand up for their rights and be heard.

If you have a daughter that is considering serving in the US Armed Forces this book is a must read for the entire family before the contract is signed. This book is not an isolated story about one single female solider being abused. Many of the women depicted in this book are being abused and treated as slaves to their superior enlisted service members but are to young, immature, and naïve to realize what is going on. I am a huge fan of the military and I am proud of what lengths Americans will go to serve their country. However, with the current system that is in place and the corruption buried so deep in the system it resembles congress I must say our military is no place for a woman. If you challenge what I am saying, you must read this book and take a deep look at your character and decide at what price you would sell your daughter for.
What a story! Since the release of this book there have been many issues raised about the conduct of soldier's in the Army. It will infuriate, confirm but most of all it will resonate with many.
