Overview

In Search of a Love Story by Rachel Schurig

Emily Donovan doesn't have a romantic bone in her body.

At least, that's what her friends Ryan and Ashley keep telling her. They're convinced her bad luck with men is directly related to her life-long lack of interest in all things romantic. When Emily's latest relationship crashes and burns, she decides to go along with her friends' plans for a romance research project. Sure, the idea that she'll have better luck if she learns about the great romances of literature and film seems a little silly, but Emily figures it can't hurt.

In no time at all, Emily finds herself buried under a mountain of romance novels, chick flicks, and sappy love songs, hopeful that her hard work will pay off with true love. When she meets Greg, Ashley and Ryan are convinced she's found prince charming-after all, he's rich, handsome, and totally into Emily. What more could she want? And why isn't her friend Elliot exactly happy for her?

Faced with misunderstandings, miscommunications, and a seemingly endless string of missteps, she is nevertheless determined to give love a try. In doing so, Emily will eventually find that true romance, the kind that lasts, has little to do with stereotypes or clichés, and everything to do with finding out what's in her own heart.

Gee, a book without explicit sex scenes. I didn't have to skip half the book.

Loved the "nice" story without all of the explicit sex. This author doesn't need it to sell books. First one I've read of hers and am planning to keep buying them. Good characters and plot lines.

Got this as a free book on my nook. Quick read. Funny commentary. Good ending. Don't miss this one.

I really enjoyed this story! Loved all the characters. They felt very real to me. Loved the premise. I think a lot of us have a preconceived notion of what love should look like and it is probably misguided and unrealistic. What a great freebie!

This is a good book about how we miss signals in our every day lives and let other's opinions sway what we think about ourselves. A lovely, honest happily ever after based on what really matters... Being ourselves.

190 pages, well edited. I did not care for this book. The overview pretty well tells the whole book. What it doesn't tell, the second reviewer does. SHAME! Because I knew so much about the book from the review, I found it lacked entertainment value and was tedious. It was a fast read. No cursing, there is a gay relationship, no religion, there are implications of sex, but no details. The main character seemed vapid. AD

This book was way to predictable. It would have been better if there was more of a plot/sttoryline to it.

Of the romance novels I read, this was not one of the better ones. It was OK, but definitely not a favorite. Character's personalities just were not all that believable.

It has a good storyline and lovable characters. But the story kinda drags on during the middle. Its gets annoying after a while how oblivious and in denial Emily is. I really enjoyed the book up until that part. I wish the author wouldve cut that part a little short because like i said it gets annoying. If you do get the book youll know what i talking about.

I thought this book was just adorable! I enjoyed the easy read, with its romantic references and back to nature undertones. I like the charachter development not only with the main charachter but also her group of friends. Breath of fresh air that there wearnt any raunchy bits. Read it in about a day, and on the look out for the other two books conected to this plot. Just an added bonus that it was free!

This is a story that takes time to develop, but once you get into it, it is a good story with has a few twist and turns.
