The reader is invited to regard poetry as a distillation of life's experience. In Search of Poetry offers poems sequenced somewhat to reflect increasing maturity. The first group, "Whimsy," is followed by another that demonstrates some elements of poetic Form. These groups, together with following ones on Music, Nature, Philosophy and Feelings, contain about two-thirds of the book's poems. The final and largest group, Narratives, has broad scope and generally longer poems.
