She's his leverage

When Aidan Bradley suddenly remembers his bloody past, he can only think of one thing. Killing the bastard responsible. His key? Using his enemy's daughter to draw the pirate out. His miscalculation? That he'd soon find himself enticed by her innocence and beauty.

He's her rescuer

Sarah Santiago's lived her entire life locked away from the world. While naïve and innocent, Sarah recognizes attraction when she feels it and the pirate holding her as bait soon becomes the pirate she wants to hold.

The odds are against them

Will Aidan's desire for revenge cost him the woman he loves, or will his decision to stand down cost him his life at the blade of the soulless pirate who murdered his mother?

This would've been a great romance, but it dragged on 100 pages too long. There were times I wanted to stop reading it, but I kept going to see how it ended. The ending made it worthwhile.

"In the Arms of a Pirate" by Michelle Beattie is book number two in the "Sam Steele" series. You can read it as a standalone but I recommend that you read book one. You will have a better understanding of the story. This is Aidan Bradley and Sarah Santiago's story. Aidan is out to avenge the assault on his family and friends. His goal is to kidnap Roche's daughter. Well, things don't go as planned. But sometimes that could be a good thing. This is a historical novel filled with adventure, battles, sensual sex, family, and love. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.

This was a great pirate novel. Aidan is determined to find and kill Roche Santiago after remembering what Roche had done to him and his mother when he was a little boy. Sarah is Roche's daughter, and has been basically kept as a prisoner her whole life. She has no idea what kind of person her father is, but Aidan figured she would make great leverage/bait to get Roche. There was a ton of drama and suspense and action in this story. I really enjoyed the interactions between Aidan and Sarah, as she came to grips with a new reality about her father, and Aidan struggled to remind himself that Sarah wasn't responsible for her father's actions. This was a wonderful story and I sacrificed sleep to get to the end because I just couldn't wait to see how everything worked out.

A great addition to the series. The story picks up where the previous book left off. Aidan is after Roche and trying to deal with the information bomb that was thrown his way-wow! He sets his sights on Sarah who is Roche's daughter and finds his hands full, when he takes her as a hostage. Being a pirate or living on a ship is never a dull moment! I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent storyline of characters, great to read about tge previous characters being a part of the story. This may appear awful, but I was so happy (& a bit bloodthirsty) for the private from previous story to finally be paid back for all he did. Since confessing, I could not wait for Sarah to finally learn the truth of her Dad. All of the storylines were good, the action, the adventure but most of all, the romance between the couples. The book's epilogue even included information from Cale & Grace; Luke & Samantha; along with Aiden and Sarah. Excellent ending to the end of Sam Steeles. (I was confused about Sam Steele until I read the books.) Happy Reading! ******vrnb****
