What People are Saying About This

Jerry B. Jenkins
My grandkids love this! And living in LA with their dad being a filmmaker, they can be tough critics. Keep ’em coming!

I’ve never been more excited about a children’s DVD series. I have been telling everyone about it. It is what the church in America needs to raise its biblical literacy. I don’t know if I’m more excited for the kids or for the adults. I started out watching with my 4 and 5 year olds. Before long, my 10 and 14 year olds were intrigued, as well as my wife. I’m amazed that it kept the attention of all of us while teaching us all key biblical truths.
The Bible Answer Man
I am delighted to endorse Phil Vischer’s new DVD series for kids. I can’t think of a more necessary resource.

As host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast—more importantly, father of twelve kids—I am thrilled that Phil Vischer has invested his wit and wisdom in the challenge of immersing kids in Scripture. It’s one thing to bemoan losing a new generation of kids to secularism—it’s quite another to do something significant about it. Thank you, Phil, for making a difference while there is yet time!

While on a recent family vacation I pulled out an advance DVD of the first episodes of Phil Vischer’s “What’s in the Bible.” I asked my five year old grandson Matthew if he wanted to watch something by the guy who created Veggie Tales. Of course he did. So we watched it together, and watched it again the next day and the next, bonus features and all, until the day we had to leave. Matthew is now a devoted fan of Buck Denver and the other characters. I was impressed with the depth of biblical background and commentary on God’s great drama of redemption. Yet it’s so engaging to children and adults (namely me) that it remained fun and entertaining throughout. My grandson retained a great deal of the material, bringing it up days later. What a remarkable combination of entertainment and biblical substance. I envision parents learning God’s Word right alongside their children, leading to spiritually significant conversations, and heightened interest in Bible study, something we desperately need. I applaud Phil Vischer’s efforts, and eagerly look forward to watching more of “What’s in the Bible” with my grandchildren…and, when they’re not available, maybe by myself

These DVDs fill a huge void in presenting an entire overview of the Bible for children. With Biblical literacy at a low, these DVDs need to be in the hands of every kid in the church. My real hope is that with repeated viewings, their parents will watch them and learn the Bible also.
