You only get one chance to make a good first impression, and King Crimson certainly didn't blow it. From the heavy metal explosion on 21st Century Schizoid Man, to the medeival classical sounds on the title track, every recording on the album is fantastic.

loved it back when, love it now.

This album, while so great in a music sense, has one of the most profound statements for the ages. " Knowledge is a deadly friend...if no one sets the rules...." If that isn't applicable to our world today, then nothing is....

I had this album on 8-track, later vinyl.....it was a soundtrack for the times. Bold, audacious, gentle and touching...King Crimson swept through like a warm breeze. Heavy? Emotional. Encompassing. Deliberate. A classic piece of aural art.

This is the album that introduced me to Prog-Rock. The album is a masterpiece and it have no weak songs on it. It starts with the fantastic "21st Century Schizoid Man", One of my favourite songs of all time. It's so brilliant that you will never believe it. Then comes the beautiful ballad "I Talk To The Wind" followed by the dark and dramatic "Epitaph". Both tracks are fantastic and impressive. "Moonchild" is a more experimental track, but still pretty good. The majestic and Impressive title track closes the all, and the 43-minutes with mind-blowing music is over. Do yourself a favour and buy this album.....NOW!!!!!

Pure magic. Better than Sgt. Peppers which is also too good for rock. Truly a gift from the collective unconscious or some such occurrence that comes around only once or twice in a music lovers lifetime. I have heard that Pete Townshend concurs. Nothing compares, not even Dark Side of the Moon.

First off, I'd like to state how amazing King Crimson is. Everything about them...I have yet to meet a person who dislikes this band. In The Court Of The Crimson King is definitely their most famous album, and also one of the best. Ever. The album starts off with 21st Century Schizoid Man, and I don't think any band could have written a better song to launch their career. The song combines heavy metal and jazz and is one of my favorite songs by them. I Talk To The Wind is a relaxing ballad, and Epitaph is very epic and emotional. Moonchild starts off alright, but for the last 8 minutes of the song, the music just seems to wander aimlessly. It's the only song that I don't particularly care for. Then it ends on the best song of them all, The Court Of The Crimson King, my favorite King Crimson song at the moment. This album was definitely a milestone in rock.
