I just discovered brian freeman and he can sure write a good murder mystery. Story is very good, you keep guessing til the end. Plenty of twists. My favorite authors are harlan coben, mike connelly, john sandford, lee child, john kellerman and robert crais. I had trouble finding someone that can compete with them and brian sure does

This author has got it going on! His writing is flawless and his characters are so real I real like I might run into them the next time I'm in Duluth. (I live in Mpls :) This book was un-put-downable! The story just kept moving and it was SCARY! I love it when I can't figure out who done it by the very end and this was one of those books! I would also recommend the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child, and the pyschological thrillers of Ruther Rendell (aka Barbara Vine) and Minetter Walters.

I've only recently discovered Brian Freeman - I read reviews as well as ed's review. Freeman writes with a lot of intensity, making all his books 'can't put it down' storytelling. loved this one.

Wow. Just finished IN THE DARK in a 2 night sitting. Loved it. There was a hug double mystery in the storyline that came together at the end. And it was an explosive ending. I saw some of it but not all of it and it had that "cliff-hanger ending." At the beginning the narraitve swings back and forth from past to present. I had to acclumate my self to that. There were several heroines that you like. And the mystery plays into like them more. Can't wait to read another of his books.

Fast-paced, intriguing read. Lots of twists and turns, but the real gem is the love story within. I would recommend it to anyone!

Mr. Freeman has an excellent grasp of his characters. Primarily Det. Johnathan Stride and his partner (girlfriend)Serena Dial. A former friend of his wife and her sister, (Laura) iniates an investigation into the death of his sister-in-law, which occurred over 30 years ago. As the investigation unwraps with all the characters believing the murder of Laura was caused by an indigant black person who long ago fled the city and his whereabouts are unknown, more and more information becomes available which puts several other persons as suspects. The overall use of clues, personalities, and incidents, leads one on an extraordinary venture. This book is never boring and is hard to put down. Mr. Freeman spins a great story.

This is an excellent thriller from Freeman, much in the same style as best-selling crime writer Sam Millar. Freeman has a powerful voice and great feel for characters.
