Overview

Imagine kissing your children goodnight and tucking them into their beds during a cold and bitter storm. You're filled with excitement over the anticipation of spending a romantic evening with your husband nestled in his warm embrace beside a warm fire. As you fall asleep, you feel your love and devotion for him; the father of your children. But when you awake, you're not greeted by the pitter-patter of tiny feet, but bright lights and loud voices. You're confused, dizzy, and sick. You reach for the television remote to turn down the noise but touch the hard reality of a cold table. Suddenly you realize where you are; in a courtroom. You scream for you husband of six years to protect you, but the only response is the yelling of many strange voices about the comatose baby killer who's suddenly awake. This is the nightmare and reality of Early Sutton. Early's eyes focus on a young man who has both excitement and horror on his face and who's demanding answers. A judge is banging her gravel and demanding order. With no memory other than making love to her husband, Early's devastated to learn that her husband and children were brutally murdered over three months ago. But deep inside, Early knows that they are alive… somewhere. Early's young attorney soon discovers that other women across America are waking up accused of murdering their entire families and they too, have no memory. With the help of The Agency, Early's answers are slowly answered as her world is absorbed into a corrupt government conspiracy that centers around the hidden experimentation of the human genome. Miss Carrie Clark and Maddie Edwards reunite to solve the mysterious murders that's plaguing America. With the assistance of The Agency, both women risk their lives as they travel from coast to coast gathering clues and piecing together a strange puzzle where the pieces don't seem to fit. The Agency - In The Defendant's Chair examines the inner working of our US Government and a secret society as they manipulate the human genome in evil seclusion. In a race against time to save the human race, the women must contemplate both the ethical and moral issues of genetic tampering.

About the Author

Lynn Yvonne Moon is the American author of the successful Agency Series. Lynn created the concept of The Agency in the 1990s and wondered what would be the implications if government power and money was unlimited. Lynn has worked for both State and Federal Government since the 1990s and uses her long reaching personal experiences to captivate her audience with realistic stories of political corruption and black Government espionage. Her first novel, "When Souls Collide" introduces the reader to the ultimate power of The Agency. The second novel, "What Rings True," awakens The Agency to the ramifications of never-ending political power. "Dysfunctional Bloodline" traces the steps of a family serial killer out for revenge. And her fourth novel, "In The Defendant's Chair", will shock her readers by exploring the controversial subject of genetic tampering. Lynn's research has taken her to extreme government locations and down dangerous and mysterious paths. Through her personal associations, Lynn examines every document and asks every question imaginable to uncover the truth. It's those truths that come out in her books. Lynn holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy State University and is currently working on her Masters of Fine Arts from Lindenwood University. She has over thirty years of experience working within the political environment of both Federal and State government. She has held various positions as both a government and industry employee where she dealt with and fought corruption from both sides of the fence.

**I received a copy of this ARC for an honest review** The book is comprised of several stories all intertwined with each other. Early is a mother of 3 who very much loves her husband. She remembers checking on her kids to make sure they are asleep and falling asleep next to her husband. She slowly comes to in a courtroom being charged with killing her husband and children. Her lawyer firmly believes in her innocence. For several months she didn't speak or react to anything. You learn about a set of twins raised by their aunt, who is an active retired agent of the agency (FBI) and uncle. Skyler is a current agent and Tyler took the scientific road and is a researcher. Skyler and her soon-to-be boyfriend are called to a location where strange DNA is found. What they find frightens them so she calls her aunt and uncle, who come out to help them. In the end the stories all come together perfectly. You feel for the Early and the women that are actually innocent but have been charged with these horrendous crimes. As you witness the humans that the scientists have tampered with, you become enraged over them. The author is very good at engaging your emotions as as the story goes on. The book has a very satisfying ending for all involved.
