This book is junk.I didn't like it one bit.The passages were short, simple and hollow.I could have bought a better book.I advise everyone to keep their money and give this book a pass.

Despite the length of the writing being short, the availability of broad passages topics makes it up. Poems consist of everyday matters which establish a link with all types of readers. I for one enjoyed that mostly.

I applaud Chiem for stepping foot into the literature field at an early age. I finished the book myself in two days for it was a fun, inviting read. It's different and that's the joy from poetry.

In my opinion Chiem's book is well written. From reading the negative review that is stated on December 17 it is most likely this person is bias. First, the name itself 'Chris Wallace' is that of a music artist known as the late 'Notorious B.I.G.' If this person chooses to make up a name to write a review then it's most likely that the review is made up as well. Whereas, my review for this book will be proper and truthful. Chiem's poetry is not comparable to that of Poets that have been writing all their lives. His technique is of his own. That is why poetry may not be one-sided. I own a paperback of In the Depths of My Eyes and finished reading it within two days. The book does have a large amount of passages, however, they are fairly short. When I read his brief information inside the book it caught my attention because he was born on September of 1983. I purchased his book in late April of 2004 and it was published in either February or March of 2004. This means he published his first book at the age of 20. This is the first book from the author and the content is on a mature, relevant level. I applaud the young author to accomplish what he has at such an early age. As for these unjust reviews they have no place.

I didn't buy the book, but I did check it out at the local bookstore when someone told me it was a really good read. As I skimmed through it, reading various forms of prose on various pages it dawned on me that this book must have been written by someone who likes to exaggerate various emotions and controversial topics. The author's choice to use big words to convey these feelings made it seem like he was forcing and churning these poems out like a job. I'd rather pick up a compilation of poems written by elementary school kids than this book full of false emotions.

people told me about this book so i thought i check it out. see, im a person that likes poetry and trying to understand them. but this was sort of simple. i like the point of view and the direction, but as far as the rhythm and the wording; they sort of crash in a mixture of large words that can stun the average mind and exaggerate the sense of its own reality. if you can understand that then you know what i mean, if not then this books for you!!!

Receiving this book as a gift I was hesitating to read it at first. However, I began with the first few pages and became motivated to finish the entire book. I've introduced this book to several of my friends and they have also embraced it as I have. The one thing I like most about Chiem's book is the variety he provides for the readers. Topics on women abuse, poverty, hunger, and so many more, Chiem has articulated the society we live in. I urge poetry readers and non poetry readers to have this uplifting poetry book

I've read some of the author's poetry recently and I must say that it's quite interesting. I'm intrigue by his unique style because it's different from other poems I've read. I highly recommend all readers to own a copy. You will not be dissapointed.
