About the Author

Joseph Smith Fletcher (1863-1935) was a British journalist and writer. The son of clergyman, Fletcher first studied law before becoming a journalist. He published poetry and works of historical fiction before achieving his greatest success as a writer of mysteries. Many of his works featured Ronald Camberwell, a Sherlock Holmes-esque detective with a penchant for solving cases from minor details.
