In the Shadow of the Cross: Volume One is the first of two volumes that I am hopeful will serve to lead as many people as possible to the truth of the Written Word of God. I was born Jerry Lee Linton on January 27, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, adopted in 1947 and given the name Gerald Lee Evans. I spent the first eleven years of my life residing in Detroit, later residing in Warren, Michigan, where I attended Lincoln High School. I studied clinical psychology at Indiana State University. I received certification in radio and television repair and servicing through Lee Community College at Baytown, Texas, and I received certification in adult foster home care at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. In 1992 I began writing for the Lord in the form of poems and songs, sharing many with church congregations both in Michigan and Florida. I was also blessed with the opportunity to have ministered to men and women who were compelled to partake of the provisions provided by shelters for the homeless and poor members of the community. In 1998 I was led to meet Christyne, who, on June 16, 1999, honored me by becoming my wife and giving me a wonderful son, Richard. We were married in Savannah, Georgia, moving to Orlando, Florida, in February, 2000. In 2006 I received my proclamation of ordination and recently established True Doctrine Ministries with the sole purpose of reaching out to everyone with the teachings of Christ, not that of man. Recently I was informed by Paramount Group of Nashville, Tennessee, that one of my songs, "Where You Lead Us, Master," will be released on an album, Catch a Rising Star, sometime in 2007. I do have several other songs pending.
