Overview

After years of pining, Frederika “Freddy” McAllister has hatched a scheme to win Logan Gabriel’s heart: she’ll secretly enter him in Elan Magazine’s Eligible Bachelor Contest, then swoop in to soothe his bruised ego when he loses. Unfortunately, Freddy’s “fool-proof” plans have a tendency to backfire, with disastrous—albeit hilarious—results. And this one looks to be no exception…

Because Logan doesn’t lose—he wins, earning a spot on a new reality TV show with six beautiful women vying for his affections. And if Freddy had read the fine print on the entry form, she would know that, as Logan’s oldest friend, she will be tagging along to choose the lucky girl. Suddenly Freddy’s perfect plan has become a perfect nightmare, complete with scheming TV executives, conniving contestants…and a bachelor in danger of falling for the wrong woman. Freddy caused this mess. Now it’s up to her to prove to Logan—and millions of television viewers—that the girl next door is really the woman of his dreams.

CUTE AND ROMANTIC READ for a lazy Sunday afternoon:  REVIEW:  INELIGIBLE BACHELOR is a contemporary romance short story that plays right into the hands of fans of some of television’s reality programming.  When Freddy McAllister enters a photograph of her childhood sweetheart into a contest she failed to read the fine print-she had inadvertently entered him a contest to be the next Bachelor for a reality program.   Heartsick and heartbroken, Freddy is cast by the show’s producers to choose who stays and who goes.  And along the way, Freddy’s heart choses Logan knowing she will be sending him into another woman’s arms. Ineligible Bachelor is a cute, quirky read that delves into the ‘unreality’ of reality TV programming.  The writing is simple and the storyline is a quick read before bed.  Following a script was never more difficult when two heart meant to be together are forced to choose someone else.  But like all romance storyline, all is not lost when the producers see something that neither one was willing to admit. If you like fun, romantic, uncomplicated storylines INELIGIBLE BACHELOR is the perfect read.

This is a fun, flirty, super innocent but totally crush worthy, quick read for anyone who likes reality tv with a twist.  Our heroine, Frederika “Freddy” McAllister, has always loved the hunky Logan. Even when she kicked his butt all over the field in football as childhood teammates. The fun twist in this book is that, she has been relegated to the "friend" zone where usually it's a guys place. Logan has always thought of her as one of the guys and keeps her at a distance. Freddy's heart seems to yearn for Logan but Logan doesn't even notice she's a female let alone someone of interest for him. So as a last ditch effort to get Logan to notice her, she enters him into a contest for Eligible Bachelor, imagining that he'll be a runner up and they'll have a laugh over it and she can tell him how hot he is and that she wants him. Unfortunately for Freddy, Logan does win and as a side bonus, the winner (Logan) must also participate in a reality show and have 6 women vie for his affections with his BFF (Freddy) helping make the decision as to which is his perfect mate, basically Freddy's dream of winning Logan has turned into the ultimate nightmare. Will Freddy and Logan find the loves of their lives on reality tv? Will fantasy become reality or will the reality show turn into the disastrous nightmare they all fear?  *ominous daytime tv music please*, dun, dun, dun.

Charming, fun, light and sweet, this book was a perfect evening read for me.  The storyline itself was original and lighthearted, and it was a clean read, not bogged down with sex or drama.  The story is very well written and kept my interest from start to finish, making it incredibly easy for me to finish the book within just a few hours.  The characters are FUN.  Freddy is sweet and determined to snag the super sexy Logan.  From the start of the book, you can tell they’re perfectly matched, and I was convinced that they had to be more than friends.  Their chemistry is delightful and leaves you cheering her on the entire book. I really enjoyed my first read from Kathryn Quick, and can promise you that this will not be my last!   Reviewed by Marie for Cocktails and Books.
