Innocence and Villainy based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
Exciting book with a combination of intrigue and pleasantry.
The first chapter covers a courtroom farce which ends in chaos when two villainous public school administrators are poisoned. Former school administrator, Jim O'Kelly is suspected. Other chapers flash back to events in O'Kelly's life including experiences with mostly innocent girls. Jim loves Pat and they join the 'mile high club' during their honeymoon. They both become administrators in the Cobacco County School system in Virginia. There they encounter many of the eventual participants in the court room calamity..The U.S. Supreme Court outlaws racial discrimination in public schools. The Cobacco County Ku Klux Klan hangs the school superintendent who attempts to integrate the schools. Crosses are burned, integrationists are injured and homes are torched. Pat, Jim, black school principal, Howard Hammond and many others flee Cobacco County. Eventually there is a death bed confession to the courtroom poisonings. It may be a red herring. The novel's introduction invites readers of 'Innocence and Villainy' to identify and give details about another likely poisoner and enter a contest with three monetary prizes............ Happy Reading. Who knows you may win a share of the Author's royalties...... J.J. Stalder.
