About the Author

My real name is Cassandra Adamae Lucas. I write poetry and screenplays. I use C.A.Boone, an abbreviation of my Maiden name, for everything I write. C.A.Boone is the name I used when I first started writing so I like to keep it consistent. I received my BFA from the University of the Arts in Animation. I sucked at animation but I have always been good at writing since I was a kid. I had my first article on the subject of Halloween published in the Philadelphia Inquire when I was 10. I have always been good at writing essays and short stories. I've written and produced two commercials for Naked Juice company that they did not want but it was fun to work on. I am currently working on a horror flick. I am a wife and a mother, I love to dance salsa, and I also have an anxiety disorder.

Reviewed by Rosie Malezer for Readers' Favorite Inside an Anxious Mind is a book of prose and poetry, written by C.A. Boone. Each poem deals with different parts of the day, such as morning, noon and night, as well as the many things which cause a person to feel anxious. The poems analyze the writer’s thoughts and feelings, filled with obsession, anxiety and guilt. Collectively, they all represent one day in the life of the author. From the moment she wakes, paranoia takes hold, as C.A. Boone takes a step outside of her comfort zone, observing those who are watching, whilst trying to decipher their thoughts by the way they are looking at her. As a black woman with a baby, she feels a sense of anxiety as she steps into the public eye, but most of the people she encounters simply smile, wanting to admire such a beautiful child. Each poem encompasses a new part of the day, along with the aggregate feelings that each day brings; the author easily conveys her thoughts, feelings and interpretations in this time. At the end of the day, while C.A. Boone lies in bed, hoping for the peace and quiet that rest should bring, the thoughts inside her mind do not still and she is restless. Anxiety takes over once again, ensuring that not a moment’s peace is felt by the author. As a prolific sufferer of Agoraphobia with Panic Disorder and PTSD, I am able to relate to the messages which C.A. Boone conveys with each verse. When the mind is a muddle of chaos, disorder, trouble and torment, some days can be almost impossible to face, especially with a child. I enjoyed the journey that Inside an Anxious Mind took me on, and recommend it to those who are curious, or who are familiar with the feelings which anxiety disorder brings.

I like poetry and was searching online and found this book. Although very short and by a beginner of poetry writing, I assume, it is written very well. I can actually get the torment of the writer. It only cost $0.99 so for that price it was a good read.

My wife actually downloaded this book and showed it to me. She likes poetry, I don't. But I really like this one. It really helped me understand what goes on in my wife's head and how she feels. She suffers from anxiety and depression.
