I was just diagnosed with insulin resistance and found this book to be very informative. However, as far as the diet that the author in the intro claims that its not a diet and that you dont have to measure a thing in is contradicting. They offer up a helpful trick but there is measuring involvded and lots of planning as well.

This book told me how to stop the hypoglycemia roller coaster! I have always been a healthy eater but could not seem to avoid hypoglycemia symptoms at times. I hate to feel ill! This book gives you the information you need to avoid feeling ill due to sugar problems. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for relief in the always hungry, sugar-craving, sugar-crashing department.

I was diagnosed with Insulin-resistance, and use the balancing technique from this book to decide what to eat....While I am on a low dose of metformin, and following this diet plan, I have....for the first time in a LONG time....had dieting success. I was just about ready to give up because nothing else worked. This is a VERY manageable plan, and does deprive the dieter of anything....Wonderful!!!!!!

I found this book to be very helpful. I have PCOS and after applying the methods in the book, I am able to control the worst symptoms. I no longer have headaches and haven't really struggled with sugar lows. I don't always go by the rules but because I follow them most of the time, I am able to avoid a lot of problems. It was insightful and I would recommend it to anyone who has hard to get rid of belly fat, and other symptoms that come with sugar lows.

This book is a great aid in knowing what Insulin Resistance is and how to manage your diet for best results. Without recognizing and making adjustments to your lifestyle, Diabetis ande it's side effects can devistate your well being. This book also includes menus and guidelines for properly combining and balancing food intake. The recipes are easy to follow and make a lot of sense.

I was impressed with this book because it also gave you the answer to why certain things work or don't work. A lot of us who have a weight problem do have a problem with insulin resistance. The information in this book is the basis of other diets such as the Mediterranean Diet and the Sonoma Diet. It makes a lot of sense and is very helpful. It is written clearly. I had no problem reading this book. I highly recommend it.

Since my diagnosis of insulin resistance I have been very discouraged about how hard it was going to be to manage my disease. Then my daughter recommended this book. It has easy-to-understand instructions, GREAT recipes, and wonderful advice. It has become my guide to learning my new lifestyle.

I started doing the Atkins diet, but found it hard to stick with. This book showed me a way of eating that help me shed 25 pounds and reduce my headaches I would get from eating carbs. It is an easy read and the food charts, eat what with what, have been very helpful.

After having just found out I have type 2 diabetes, I was looking for information on healthy eating plans to manage my diabetes. This book was very informative and the plan simple to follow. Counting carbs and linking with protein have helped me get started on a lifetime health management system. I recommend this book for others out there who are frustrated trying to lose weight and having no success. The concept offered is easy to follow. The authors seem to have the credentials to back their information. I got the book at the library, but I plan to buy it! This is not another fad diet. It is a lifetime plan.
