This book is worth it for the images alone - fantastic, creative and intensely sensual. You will never look at food the same way!

Beautiful! I could not put this book down once I picked it up! The cover intriqued me from the moment I saw it in the store and once I started leafing through it I was mezmerized, a sign of a wonderful book to me. It is as informative as it is sensual.

I love to cook, but using recipes from this book definitely made it more fun. Best dinner: tomato basil soup, springtime salad with pine nuts, rosemary pasta, honey glazed salmon, chocolate cake with berries. For breakfast the next morning you must have the french toast with honey butter. The herb risotto is great too; a meal in itself. For those Sundays when football is the main focus, try the black bean chili. I bought it for myself and started giving it as a gift to everyone and for any reason.

From the deliciously entertaining text to the tantalizing recipes you will be seduced into reading this cookbook. There are 85 couple-tested recipes, humorous notes to make you smile and even suggestions for music selections with dinner. After eating a dinner of lamb and butternut squash dripping in warm honey butter sauce, I lit a candle and decided to review this marvelous work of art. Ben Fink is a nationally-known photographer based in Memphis, TN and his work honors the human body with tasteful yet luscious photographs. There are seventeen aphrodisiacs displayed on the body in such a way as to cover everything and still make the pictures softly sensual. Chocolate, asparagus, chiles, coffee, basil, grapes, strawberries, honey, artichokes, black beans, oysters, rosemary, edible flowers, pine nuts, avocados and figs are all displayed in a tantalizing way. The text is especially entertaining and I enjoyed the story of aromatic rosemary. The 'chocolate fig bundles' looked tempting, so I set out to make them. The delicious aroma from the toasting almonds made this a fun recipe to make. The satiny sheets of phyllo pastry smothered in butter told me one thing, these were going to be heavenly. After soaking the figs in rum (I was out of brandy), I filled them with the almond/chocolate mixture and wrapped them up snuggly in the pastry. More butter! Then, I baked them for 13 minutes until they were crisp and golden. For those interested in taking things a bit further than cooking, there is a section on recommended reading, advice on selecting aromatherapy candles, sources for edible massage oils and information on how to make specific stages of any relationship into a reason to cook up something satisfying. If you are still hungering for more information, you can explore the list of books and food Web sites included for your pleasure. You will want to try the 'chocolate hazelnut truffles,' asparagus frittata,' 'honey-peppered salmon,' 'espresso cream,' 'grilled scallops with basil and lavender essence,' 'grape sorbet,' 'Cornish hens with strawberry glaze,' 'French toast baked in honey-pecan sauce,' 'baked artichoke and crab dip,' 'black bean chili,' 'parmesan cheese oysters,' 'rosemary-scented lamb over pasta,' 'sweet frittata with flowers,' 'veal medallions with pine nuts and herbs,' and 'avocado chutney.' Every recipe just sounds good! After reading this cookbook, I seriously doubt that you will ever view the grocery store in the same way. As you walk down the coffee isle, you will inhale the intoxicating aromatic coffee bean aroma deeply with your eyes closed. In the produce section you will look for asparagus, strawberries, dried figs, avocado, edible flowers and rosemary. Intercourses will make you more aware of the sensual pleasures of food. This is a book for the kitchen, coffee table and for reading in bed, preferably with someone you love.
