About the Author

David Collis, a native of Southern California, was born during the Cold War and the suburban building boom. In his youth, David chose to become a commercial airline pilot but after a life altering crisis at nineteen the content and direction of his life dramatically changed. Afterward, he was captivated by the humanities, art and religion. It is here he found his new life compass. The writing of Thomas Merton, the Christian mystics, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Alan Watts, Joseph Campbell, J. Krishnamurti, Rumi and Paramahansa Yogananda inspired and guided him "through the maze of the world's religious and mystic traditions as I discovered one remarkable gem after another." David traveled the world, made pilgrimages to sacred sites, temples and Cathedrals and frequented many of the world's art museums. He made a living as a studio art assistant, carpenter, construction supervisor and inspector. He obtained his BFA from the Otis Art Institute and his MFA from the Claremont Graduate School. He currently lives in the Sonoran desert where he writes, creates sacred symbols photographs and conducts lectures. David directed his creative energies toward Christianity and the life and sayings of Jesus of Nazareth "in order to bring a new and fresh insight into an ancient living tradition." Interviewing Jesus is his first book.
