Intimate Intuition by Audrey Carlan

Silas McKnight is the owner of multi-million-dollar musical production company Knight & Day Productions. He's rich, attractive, and loyal to his core. He's the man every woman wants but none can have. He's suffered immeasurable loss, and he doesn't plan on ever going through that hell again.

Dara Jackson, the quirky, stunning meditation teacher at Lotus House Yoga, is also the owner of Sunflower Bakery. She's always dreamed of being a baker--and a mother. Having grown up an orphan, Dara knows what being alone and feeling unwanted is like.

Silas and Dara meet one fated night and spend a single evening worshiping each other's bodies. All is beautiful until Dara discovers a secret and disappears before the sheets are even cold. Except Dara and Silas can't escape one another. Destiny has spoken, and these two are about to become far more intimate than they ever thought possible.

Intimate Intuition by Audrey Carlan is the sixth book in the Lotus House Series. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading this entire series. The characters crossover into all the other books. These characters are phenominal. This book is the story of Dara and Silas. Silas has had great loss in his life. His story will break your heart. After meeting Dara, she breaths new life into Silas. There are many ups, downs, twists and turns that you will never see coming. Dara and Silas have fanastic chemistry and they are smoking hot together. I could not put this book down.

Intimate Intuition is a journey of family, healing, and a second chance at love. I can’t begin to word for you how deeply this book resonated with me, and I lost count of how many times I shed tears reading it because it was just so beautiful, and so hopeful. Silas’ backstory broke my heart but seeing how he develops and heals with Dara in this Book was captivating. And oh my god he is ultimate levels of alpha book boyfriend perfection, I spent the entire time I was reading it gripping my kindle, completely hooked and addicted, and swooning so damn hard! Dara as a character has intrigued me and held my attention since I first read Resisting Roots, the first Lotus House book, nearly two years ago. She’s quirky and kind, and her ability to read auras was so fascinating. Getting to follow her love story, and understand her, to learn her story and how she lives her life, was wonderful. She’s such a happy, positive, and kind character that it made Intimate Intuition a truly joyous book to read. The chemistry between this mysterious hero and unique heroine is off the charts HOT, it’s the perfect continuation of one of my favourite sexy series, and as always happens when I read an Audrey Carlan book, I felt inspired. It’s such a perfectly thought provoking, emotive, spiritual book and I think it’s rivalling Resisting Roots as my favourite lotus house yet! *gasps of horror and surprise* I KNOW! #SorryNotSorry Trent!

This is my favorite book in this series so far! An absolutely beautiful story of healing. Letting go of the past. Moving on from loss. Finding amazing love and their ultimate destiny. Audrey always delivers impeccable writing paired with characters that are developed to perfection. Our hero Silas and heroine Dara in Intimate Intuition are among my favorite of all time. They were made for each other. And although life has thrown them more than their share of loss and pain - the way their story unfolds -- utterly flawless! These characters gah I am blown away. Dara is intuitive, beautiful, fun loving and patient. Silas is a hunk, head of the family business, worships Dara and completely adores her. However he's carrying serious baggage from his past. Dara is the perfect person to not only form an immediate attraction and bond with but the one person who can recognize his pain and help him through the healing process. She is the sunlight to his perpetual state of the darkness. At the beginning of each chapter we get definitions of Chakras and auras. So incredibly fascinating. I want to learn about meditation. Color me intrigued - if Audrey still teaches these classes, I want to sign up!

To be honest, I read this book twice before writing my review. The first time was just for the sheer enjoyment of Silas and Dara. The second time was to analyze the book a bit more and determine what I loved so much about it. Even after my second read, I still can't pinpoint just one reason why I loved this book so much. Rather, I realized it was the combination of many factors that made this such an excellent read. Audrey Carlan has taken a common plot, the one-night stand resulting in a baby, and execute it in a perfect and believable manner.  Silas and Dara have mutual friends, characters from the previous Lotus House books. When they're first introduced, sparks fly and they have an one-night stand. However, a misunderstanding leads to Dara leaving the next morning and then discovering a few weeks later that she's pregnant. While the misunderstanding with Silas quickly gets cleared up, the trauma of his past, which caused the misunderstanding, lingers. Despite that, when he learns about the pregnancy, Silas throws his all into a relationship with Dara. This book is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Dara is an awesome heroine, fiery and just yoga calm and a baker to boot. However, Silas really takes the cake (see what I did there). His past is traumatic but when he learns about the baby, he works to overcome that past and be supportive for Dara and his future child.  He's complex and fleshed-out and totally heartbreaking and a believable hero all in one.  What I especially enjoyed about this book was the lack of drama. I'll admit, most of my love for the baby trope in romance comes from how drama-filled the books are. However, in Intimate Intuition, Audrey Carlan takes a more realistic approach. Sure, there's a little drama with the misunderstanding in the beginning and with Silas' family later. For the most part though, the relationship between Dara and Silas is immensely healthy and supportive. They both decide that they're all in for this baby and for making a relationship between them work. Sure, they have issues to overcome but they address them in adult and logical ways. It's actually comforting to watch their relationship play out. The love that grows is of course passionate (Audrey Carlan is a queen at steamy scenes) but more than that, it's strong and binding and steady. I loved this book because of the pure beauty of their relationship. Sure, circumstance jumped-started that relationship but it became so binding and beautiful that only outside forces could threaten it. They face issues together and the roots of their love grow so strong and sure that the reader truly believes that nothing can sever them.

Lotus House man...I love it. I don't ever want it to end. Silas and Dara had a one night stand, but something about it has them both dwelling on a night that was supposed to be over in the morning. Silas is not able to handle anything more than casual - he's still reeling from a devastating loss. Dara is fine with casual, but eventually, she wants it all. Adopted at age 8, she wants a family. It's funny what destiny has in store for the two of them. And I was fully invested in watching to see how they were going to deal with the curveball thrown at them. Especially when you add in the heat and heart that Carlan is known for. ...... Spoilers below..... ...... I loved watching how protective Silas got of Dara. While I wasn't quite sure why he was hiding their relationship from his family, I liked watching him care for Dara. I liked that he wasn't afraid to commit once he realized that there could be more. You might be asking why I docked a star if everything was awesome and it has to do with the fact that the dialogue felt forced. Both characters are black and it felt like Carlan was trying too hard to make them sound black. Compared to the other Lotus House books, the dialogue kept pulling me out of the story, almost making me cringe at points. It felt like she was writing the way she thought black people should sound. Now, I don't know if it's culturally accurate, but it made me a touch uncomfortable. Not enough for me to not love the book, but enough for me to comment on it. All in all, a fantastic book...and I'm ready and yet scared for the next one, because I'm pretty sure it'll be the last.

I absolutely love finding books that has the hero treating the heroine like their queen. It's why I read romance to see a man truly appreciate the woman in his life. It's like crack for me and I don't care what else is in the book if the author provides this. The good thing is the author gave us a great story line as well. Silas was amazing with Dara. Don't get me wrong, he's not perfect. He suffered a major loss in his life and he is still grieving. He does struggle with letting go and the guilt over starting fresh but when he is with Dara, he is incredibly good to her. I LOVED it! He called her his Queen and treated her like one. Dara was a great heroine as well. I will admit, the yoga aspect of this story and her being able to read everyone's aura was different for me. But it was also kind of fascinating. I wish I could read everyone's aura. I have to mention, this had one of the sweetest endings. I won't spoil anything but it had one of the best scenes for closure on a book. Total aww factor! This is my first read of Audrey Carlan but if this is how she writes her couples, I will be devouring this series. ARC provided by Author.

Laughing, crying and wanting to scream all in one LOL Where do I start with this latest addition to the Lotus House series? Silas oh Silas.....no person should ever had to suffer such enormous losses as he has. If I had, I would go totally off the rails. But sane he stays, swearing off love and never again allowing himself to feel it and its gifts again. That is until Dara enters the picture. One night of passion and heat is all it takes for the Fates to say "Here is your second opportunity at love and life Silas. Please do not give it up or throw it away" A great edition to Lotus House and cannot wait to see what shakes loose next!!

I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review. I have never read anything by Audrey Carlan before but I have some of her books I had downloaded previously. I am very excited to get to read and review for this great author. She created characters that we can all relate to. They are very human with real tragedies in their past. Silas might be extremely wealthy but he seems like an ordinary beautiful man. He doesn't flaunt his wealth or position. Dara is a free spirit who learned early in life if you find something good you need to hold on with both hands. She was lucky to have adoptive parents who loved her so unconditionally. When these two meet via mutual friends it is instant attraction. Neither is looking for more than a one night stand. Fate has other ideas. I am looking forward to going back to read the previous books in the series so I can learn more about Silas and Dara's friends. This book can easily be read as a stand alone though no cliffhangers. Steamy, sexy scenes included. The author included interesting little tidbits about aura's and chakra's as well since Dara teaches meditation. I recommend Intimate Intuition.
