This is an amazing story. It was created by Rieko Yoshihara for us American yaoi fans. My only complaint is that the releases are further apart than originally planned, there's only been three releases so far. There is some beautiful art work in the manga portion, but most of it is written. The summary is at Sublime's site, but I'll give a quick one here. Three close friends Takumi, Kouki, and Jin are in middle school when there is a bus accident during a trip to the lake. Only the three boys survive, but none come out of it the same. Jin is in a coma, Takumi can see supernatural things, and Kouki is being driven mad by migraines from never ending noise from the spiritual world. The main story is set twelve after the accident. Takumi is an outcast from his family and is labeled a liar by all, Kouki's family has fallen apart and he is seen as dangerous due to his fits, and Jin is still trapped in spirit form of a Twelve year old while his body ages normally in a care home. The boys' devotion is unshakeable, and beautiful. I'm satisfied by the pace because I know There after 3 volumes the surface has barely been scratched. There are so many other things going on on the story that I haven't even mentioned. The writing is compelling and beautiful, this isn't from an amateur. Rieko Yoshihara is an established author in Japan. The cliff hangers will leave you wanting more! The volumes aren't budget breaking, and I'm really hoping it takes off so maybe this story will move up higher on Sensei's priority list. I've even included a little something from volume 3 to hopefully rouse your interest;)
