Two FBI agents are caught in a merciless vigilante’s crosshairs in New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Eden’s electric Killer Instinct series

Sheltered in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains is the suspect who’s summoned FBI agent Macey Night’s fears to the surface. Every day that the “Profiler,” a vigilante serial killer, escapes justice is another day she’s reminded of what it is to be a ruthless predator’s prey. Capturing him is a craving deeper than anything she’s felt in a long time. But Agent Bowen Murphy, equal parts sexy and volatile, seems hell-bent on changing that. Working together—needing, living and breathing each other—they’re entwined to distraction.

Bowen’s used to operating on impulse: act, don’t feel. Now Macey and the controlled terror behind her beautiful eyes have him rethinking everything, including his rule to never get close to a colleague. He’s willing to fight for a future with Macey, but the consequences of love could be deadly.

## Wow. Pedal to the metal the entire time. There was no time to get bored with this one. It was very much like a Criminal Minds episode. Many clues, many suspects and just as many twists and turns. The romance was a little lighter in this installment, but no matter. Still fabulous! Well done Ms. Eden.

Cynthia Eden is one of my favorites. These characters are recurring members of the same team. The killers they hunt are both despicable and deranged. Start reading when you have plenty of time because it's hard to put down.

FBI agents Macey Night and Bowen Murphy are part of the FBI’s BAU group but their particular team is composed of agents who have all had intimate connections to a serial killer. Once a victim of Daniel Haddox, Macey has been trying to find the former doctor and bring him down. She and Bowen are sent to North Carolina where a body has been found with the same cuts that Haddox made on Macey. Have they finally located the killer doctor? Lots of twists in this book that you won’t see coming! A great book deserving of more than 5 stars.

Suspenseful, edge of your seat page turning adventure. Ms. Eden has gotten another fan, she has been able to keep this reader on her toes and wanting to forget everything until I finished this page turner. I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. Macey Night, when we read about Macey we find out that she is a doctor, then we find her in the hands of a serial monster, but she manages to get herself freed and turns her life around to helping bring monsters like him to justice as a FBI special agent. Macey has a special connection with serial killers due to her past and there are others in the book that have a special connection with serial killers as well. Bowen Murphy, and Samantha Dark to name a few. Samantha Dark is the team leader in charge of catching the serial killers. Samantha is used to getting her way and getting brass to see things her way. She goes to bat for her team and knows her team members are the real deal and they are the right ones for the job at hand. She is the Aaron Hotchener from Criminal Minds in this book. Bowen Murphy, has one weakness, just one. Macey Night. He knows that as a member of the FBI he must keep a hands-off policy when it comes to Macey, but can he keep that policy when she comes to him after a rather horrifying night of dealing with “The Profiler” serial killer? Just like Macey, Bowen has a special connection with serial killers, but can Bowen and team figure out how “The Profiler” is finding other killers before it is too late? Ms. Eden has turned this reader into a big fan! I can’t wait to read more from this wonderful author. She has a way of bringing her reader into the story without too much trouble. Bowen and Macey are such a delight to read about and when a horrible past ends up in a HEA it is always a great story for this reader. I found myself hoping for a bit more action but in the end the way that Ms. Eden has done this story and the characters is just right and this reader is more than willing to admit she was wrong to want more action. The whole book is action packed. I would love to see Ms. Eden continue with books for the rest of the team but that is just a hope I have. Fingers crossed. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. I give this book a Five-star rating.

My Rating: 4 Favorite Quotes: She felt as if she’d shattered into a million pieces and then been put together all wrong. I just want to fall asleep in your arms and know that, for a few moments, I’m safe. Because that’s what you are to me, Bowen… You’re my safety in a storm. My Review: I fell right into this intense and intriguing story during its extremely powerful and harrowing prologue. I felt gripped by my hair and the tension in my neck did not relent until the last chapter. This was my first time reading Cynthia Eden and had no idea what to expect, I now expect to be reading her crafty tales quite often. The premise was interesting and the writing was well paced, wily, and compelling. Although the FBI didn’t like the idea of a killer besting them and taunting them with it, I rather fancied the idea of a killer killing off loathsome predators and wondered – why not let him be - until I realized there was collateral damage to innocents as well since killers aren’t all that discriminating… silly me for not thinking that through. And in the midst of all that hunting and chasing and slicing and dicing, a sweet and steamy love story blossomed – oh yeah… I liked that… I really like that a lot.

With nonstop twists in the plot, this serial killer hunt kept me mesmerized until the end. The gory, grisly crimes, the constant guessing of the possible culprits, the struggle to get just one step ahead of him, to survive, to save just one of his victims, to live through his attacks, it had me on my toes, on the edge, holding my breath, making the book impossible to put down until I knew for sure that there was a deliverance from the evil, from the chase for survival. The gloomy crimes took the story into the deep, dark, dangerous corners of a twisted human mind. The danger and threat are palpable in the air, the possibilities to survive are meager, the endless opportunities to hide in the vast environment of the Smokies gives the sick and twisted hunter an upper hand. The constantly adding numbers of the victims feel devastating, the struggle to feel compassion towards the prey, as they are as vicious killers as the hunter, is overwhelming. No one is safe, as it seems the mastermind has an access to the deepest thoughts and secrets of the FBI agents trying to capture him. Yes, the suspense is intense, dark, and sinister but it is balanced by the light that comes from the developing relationship between the FBI partners Macey Night and Bowen Murphy. The passion between them is ardent and eager, as the long-simmered emotions finally cascade into the freedom, overflowing despite the rules of the FBI. I loved the connection between Macey and Bowen, while it was tight and strong, filled with passion, there was fragile tenderness in it as well. The need to protect, to keep each other safe even more urgent because of their shadowy history, their past encounters with the killers that they barely survived. A riveting story with fascinating, gripping, on-the-edge suspense and enthralling and alluring romance between the main characters who charmed me with their intriguing, hidden depths, their caring natures, and their need to protect. A thrill ride of a story that kept me up until the wee hours of the night, driven by the need to find justice for the innocent victims, for the culprits to be captured, and for hero and heroine to survive. Truly an unputdownable story, a great addition series focusing on the FBI's special agents' hunt of the serial killers. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Phew--another edge-of-your-seat read in this series! Into the Night is a romantic suspense with many twists and turns...and then a few more twists thrown in, just for good measure. I lost track of how many side characters gave me creepy vibes (but yay, I was right about two of those creepy-vibe-givers, at least partially!) and whoa, so. Many. Murders. (and abductions. Those numbers were right up there too.) Seriously, this book was pretty relentless. I'm not sure when Macey and Bowen even had time to develop a relationship--though somehow they managed. ;) Overall I really enjoyed reading this. Though the ending did have a bit of a going-off-the-rails feel to it, ultimately it was en entertaining read that kept me firmly sitting on the very edge of my seat throughout. Fingers crossed that there is more to come! Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Another twisting story about FBI profilers who have all been brought together due to their own pasts that connected them in some way to serial killers. Some are victims whilst others on the team are predators but all now share a burning desire for justice. Macey survived the diabolical 'The Doctor'and hoped he was dead but now it appears he is once again practicing his nefarious tortures . As she knows his opus operandi only too well Macey is sent to Gatlingburgh with her partner Bowen to investigate and discover if it is actually her nemesis or a copycat killer. This was never predictable and threw out all manner of conundrums as the author wove her story of revenge and a twisted sense of justice. It was fun seeing characters from previous books but I hasten to reassure other readers that I felt it worked as a standalone story. Amidst the madness and murder we also get a satisfying and passionate romance. For me though when at the end Bowen mentioned that Macey already had his heart it made me smile as yes it's very much a happy ending and there's nothing wrong with that! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
