I was all set to reread this and then just put it onto various swapping sites along with the rest of my young adult literature, but I couldn't. The story just captured me all over again even though I remembered much of it. What is not to love- it's got pirates, interesting characters, and historical fiction? In this book Rosie has to start coming of age as her entire world disappears and she's left to start over. She finds herself able to start anew, climb rigging, be a prisoner, and be indignant at her rescuers.

I love this triology. Rosie's house burns down and she's left alone, but the brave (and hottie) pirate takes her aboard his ship. Rosie has never been on a ship, and is sort of scared at first. You get to see how she learns things and grows up, and falls in love! These books are wholesome and have that mystery part of love. But also, Rosie doesn't know if Raider loves her or Octavia. Read this book again and again! There are many adventures and a cast of characters that are each so unique. It's a beautiful story. Read it and then re-read it!! Worth owning for sure!

This book was an outstanding piece of work. Jean Ferris deserves alot of credit for this. If you love romance and adventure, this is the book for you! You will keep turning the pages untill you've read all three books with Rosie and Raider. Here is the perfect trio of books with Rosie and Raider: Into the Wind, Song of the Sea, and Weather the Storm. You won't believe the many surprises Jean has for you in these books. They are TOTAL MUST READS!!

This book was one of those books that you get, you start reading A.S.A.P. and you don't stop reading until you're done with the story. A must-read book, definitely, as are the last two books.
