I read this book when I was considering investing in real estate. It is clear that the authors know something about real estate, but one of my concerns is that they try to compare the value of real estate investments with equity investments. The comments they make show a lack of understanding of how equity investments are valued. Further, they gloss over a lot of substantive issues involved with real estate. All examples seem to assume 100% rental, they ignore the costs of maintenance and issues revolving around poor tenants. I found discussions with other landlords to be far more beneficial.

I have read several books on real estate investing and so far, by far, this one is the best. He gives the down side and practical advice along with the possibilities. I strongly recommend

I thought this book was written in a very professional manner. I hate those books that promise a lot of unrealistic things. This book tells it like it is. Very good.

The practical experience of the authors comes through strong in this book. No pie-in-the-sky promises of immediate riches, but good sensible advice on how to build a high income for life. Read this book for the details of appraisal, financing, and locating bargains. But also gives beginning investors a solid knowledge to start from.
