Mary Buckham's Invisible Recruits (IR) series continues in this book, which begins immediately where the previous book left off. Alex, Kelly and Mandy, three of the IR agents, must travel to the underworld - yes, that's right; we're on a journey to hell! - to save a young girl who's been taken by a demon for his own nefarious purposes. Hey, he's a demon; it's what they do, right? We get to learn more about the characters and their fears and insecurities, but also see them soldier on and attempt to do what they have to do. The story is gripping and held me captivated until the last page. But if you are worried that you have to have read the previous books in the series in order to read this one, never fear. Mary catches new readers to the series up quickly, then let's the story do the rest. I will say, though, that once you've read this one, you'll want to go back and read the rest! Received an advanced copy from the author for an honest review.

As three of the IR(Invisible Recruits) team members are sent on a rescue mission to the underworld they come across some very intense challenges. Each challenge is something from their past and is being thrown at them in strange ways. With the mission being led by Alex, the team which includes Kelly and Mandy, have only so many hours to complete the mission or lose the life of Aini who is a Seer and who was kidnapped by the Horned One who wanted her power. The emotions fly high in this story and I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book! Just as one challenge was conquered, another was thrown in their path and was even worse than the one before! This is one of Mary Buckham’s deepest and darkest stories yet in this series and it is filled with none stop action…keeping the reader guessing what will happen next and what the outcome will be! I cannot recommend this series enough to people! It is one of my favorites and with the addition of this book, it only keeps getting better and better! Amazingly written with graphic and detailed descriptions of everything that is happening this story will draw you in and not let you stop reading until that last page is turned. Definitely an excellent books and series.

Sorry, MB, but you  totally lost me with this book.  I paged through the last half of the book wondering why I even  bothered.  Too much underworld and not enough of this world.  All the while wondering why I was bored with your monsters and dialogue.  I hate to say goodbye to Alex and friends but the hook of Bran not remembering her is not enough to bring me back to the next installment.  Good luck in your endeavors.

Wow!!! Just WOW!!!! From page one Mary Buckham takes us on a journey of new discoveries and events that keep even those with great imaginations in suspense as to what will come next. As you follow the three main characters, who are on a rescue mission, you are not only drawn to be a part of their quest but Mary's style of writing hooks us into caring about the outcome of each event along the way. Intense, with moments of humor and surprises around every turn, this story will keep you turning the pages until the very end. And good news! There are other stories in this series that you can go back and read, but this is a great stand alone book. Mary also writes "how to" books that inspire and teach others how to write their stories.

This was my 1st book by Mary and I really did enjoy it . I will be going back to get a little better understanding that I feel I will get from the 1st books. But all and all I felt it was good ! I do question myself sometimes with how some words should sound lol .

What an amazing book! Mary Buckham has an imagination that takes you to a world you could never fathom. This book is laced with humor throughout the entire spine-tingling fear it creates. I enjoyed learning more about Alex, a whole side of her I didn’t expect. This book is a must read, can’t put down book!

This is the latest in Mary Buckham's Invisible Recruit series. I think it is the best. I was captivated from the first page. Although it is part of a series, it reads fine on its own. I love the characters and the world the author created is imaginative and fascinating. I loved this book.
