In a contest against fellow teen divas Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, wholesome songbird Jessica Simpson would win the title of Miss Congeniality. Image-wise, Simpson -- a born-gain Christian who once performed with a Christian group -- makes less provocative fashion statements and vocally follows the lead of a chaste Mariah Carey, circa 1995's Daydream. In the same vein as her likable debut, Sweet Kisses, Irresistible finds Simpson wrapping her impressive chops around a batch of catchy pop, R&B, and gospel-lite songs. The Texas native, however, has a long way to go before she approaches the masterful vocal gymnastics of Carey or Beyoncé Knowles of Destiny's Child. Lyrically, though, Simpson (who is betrothed to the hunky Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees) spices things up. On the mid-tempo title track, she seems to be wrestling with her carnal urges as she purrs, "I know that I'm supposed to make him wait/Let him think I like the chase/But I can't stop fanning the fire." And on the steamy, Spanish guitar-accented ballad she moans: "This attraction.../it's just too strong for us to try and fight." Simpson shines brightest on inspirational numbers such as "Forever in Your Eyes," a duet with Marc Anthony, and her stirring, choir-backed rendering of the classic hymn "His Eye Is on the Sparrow." Jessica Simpson may be sugar and spice and everything nice, but with Irresistible, this preacher's kid shows that she's no longer Daddy's little girl.

this has to be the best albulm ever i am jessica's #1 fan i have all her cd's including the dvd and i must say this is her best albulm it is IRRESISTIBLE.
Jessica Simpson has incredible voice and she is the new generation of Mariah Carey and Celine dion she even tops Mariah carey´s vocalability she has a similar range as Celine. This album is pure pop and ballads i love it all the songs sounds amazing and i recommend it to all Mariah carey and Celine fans.
Jessica's songs from these albums are good. I love listening to a few of these songs and Jessica is the most wonderful Teen Idol there is.
I am greatly anticipating the release of this album. It's due out May 29th. The first single, also titled ''Irresistible'', is awesome. It has a great beat, but what makes it is Jessica's amazing voice. Her powerful voice obviously makes her a great ballad singer, as she proved on ''Sweet Kisses'', but ''Irresistible'' utilizes Jessica's voice to give the up-tempo song strength and depth. Many will compare her to Britney Spears probably, but she ranks with Christina Aguilera in my mind. They both have amazing voices that can punch out emotion-filled powerful ballads as only great divas can, and they both take today's beaty pop songs to a whole new level. I can't wait for ''Irresistible''.
I think Jessica Simpson's CD is good.
Okay, this album is Irrisistable!!! Jessica is a talented, bright, energetic, young pop star. Buy this CD!!

The CD really surprised me. I have always believed that Jessica Simpson had a great voice and 'Irresistible' simply confirms it. Although the CD still delivers ''Pop bubblegum'' content - for example ''Hot like fire'' -, the maturity of the some songs like ''When you told me you love me'', still showed me the talent she had. However she doesn't bring anything new with this CD, but I do believe it is worth buying it. She undoubtedly surpasses her competitors (for not naming Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, etc.) with her powerful, sweet and mature voice.
Jessica Simpson is very talented, and her songs rock! The title track is cool of course, ''When You Told Me You Loved Me'' is a slow-moving ballad that's great, ''A Little Bit'' is upbeat and fun, ''There You Were'' is a great ballad with Marc Anthony. A great buy!
Can I just say how inspired i am by Jessica. Not only does she have the best voice of all the other young popsters, but she is also the classiest with the way she carries herself. I totally recomend her sophmore album. And if you don't have the debut... get it.
This album doesn't even shadow Jessica's debut album. She has a fresh, new sound that is extremely different from other Pop Artists. Anyone doubting the 'pop' sound should listen. I was skeptical but surprisingly impressed.
This CD has a mix of pop, r&b, gospel, and latin music. There are heartfelt ballads and shake your booty songs. You have to buy it!
I can't wait to listen to her new cd ''Irresistable''. I ordered it on here, and I love her song ''Irresistable''! It is so cool!!! You gotta buy it.
This really shows Jessica's new style and she is finally getting the success that she deserves. She si my favorite artist of artist of all times!!!
I am anxiously awaiting the release of irresistable. It is refreshing to have an artist out there who sticks to their values and doesn't conform to sell records and instead sells them with her talent! If the rest of the album is anything like the first single irresistable we are in for some good music this summer. Thanks for the great songs to listen to this summer Jessica!!!
