We got this for a nephew who was taking the exam but had a lot of trepidations. He was unsure of himself even though he always does well in what he attempts. But the Enrolled Agent exam was BIG and meant a major career change if he was successful. He was. He passed the exam (and the other 2) with flying colors. We know for a fact that he POURED through this (and the parts 2 and 3) several times, practiced with the online tests, and really DID do his homework. Sure enough, he passed the first time he tried. Although he said he thought the exams ended up being far easier than he expected, I strongly suspect it was due to the series of three IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guides. We know he took his preparation seriously and it paid off. Yes, these are not cheap paperbacks but a career is worth some effort the we know of no other VALUE you could put into your future than to study these study guides before you take the exams.

I bought the set, studied, made flash cards and used Fast Forward's on line review and test prep. Passed all three parts, first time! i've been out of school for 30 years and FF helped  me with my test anxiety. i HIGHLY recommend Fast Forward.
