About the Author

Tillie Cole hails from a small town in the North-East of England. She grew up on a farm with her English mother, Scottish father and older sister and a multitude of rescue animals. As soon as she could, Tillie left her rural roots for the bright lights of the big city. After graduating from Newcastle University, Tillie followed her Professional Rugby player husband around the world for a decade, becoming a teacher in between and thoroughly enjoyed teaching High School students Social Studies for seven years. Tillie has now settled in Calgary, Canada, where she is finally able to sit down, write (without the threat of her husband being transferred), throwing herself into fantasy worlds and the fabulous minds of her characters. Tillie writes both Romantic comedy and New Adult novels and happily shares her love of alpha-male leading men (mostly with muscles and tattoos) and strong female characters with her readers. When she is not writing, Tillie enjoys nothing more than strutting her sparkly stuff on a dance floor (preferably to Lady Gaga), watching films (preferably anything with Tom Hardy or Will Ferrell—for very different reasons!), listening to music or spending time with friends and family.

I don't even know where to start with this book.  I'm still trying to process everything I read.  Having read two of Tillie's previous novels, I knew Tillie could write stories that entertained and drew you in, but I wasn't expecting to have my world rocked by this book.  I'll try not to give anything away. The level of world building and explanation of many things that relate to both the motorcycle club (MC) and the Order astounded me.  I say world building because I literally felt like I was reading about an alien world even though the book is set in contemporary times and here on Earth.  It was hard for me to believe many of the things in this book are based off real life.  I forgot how humans can be sometimes.  I can't even begin to tell you the emotions this book evoked.  I felt emotionally exhausted after finishing this book.   I was angered, sickened, and horrified by some of the passages in the book, but there were others that made me happy and uplifted me.  The one thing that I felt came through really strongly was how people can take religious beliefs and twist scripture or teachings to where they no longer resemble their original purposes, but bring them personal and financial gains.  There's so much more I want to say about this book, but If I'm not going to ruin it for you, I have to stop now.  There's no doubt this book has given me a serious book hangover.  This book is perfect for anyone who loves a dark romance but also for anyone whose looking for a story that shows the power of love.  I'm REALLY hoping Tillie comes back to this world and these characters because I don't think readers will be done with them once they finish the last page.  I know I'm not. I also have the feeling this book is going to be polarizing.  You're going to either love it or hate it.  This book is different from Tillie's previous books, but it still manages to somehow surpass Sweet Home as my favorite of hers, and I didn't think that was possible.

I actually really enjoyed this book. If you are not a fan of bad language or dark subject matter then this is not the book for you. This book covers, child and adult rape, the bad side of religious cults, biker gangs, murder. There was plenty of violence tempered by a love story. There is no romantic wooing. It is dark and gritty. I was not happy with the ending for one of the characters but it may be setting up for a new book. I hope he gets a better ending if he is in another book.

I did not read Sweet Home, so this is my first book from this Author and I was very impressed. She really did her research right and had me feeling so much hurt for Mae. Styx was ofcourse HOT and AWESOME biker dude! The author threw me for a loop with RIDER! I have mix feelings for him. One hand I felt so much heartache for him and the other was he is such a jerk! I am so curious what his story is going to be. I really want to read about KY and FLAME! Holy MOLY! Please don't make me wait for so long!

Tillie Cole took me on an unusual ride with this one.  Mae and Styx met when she was 8 and he found her outside of the perimeter fence of the compound where she lived.  Years later, she escapes and winds up at his Club.  He recognizes her eyes (wolf eyes) and tries his best to protect her.  There were some twists in this story which I will not give away, and it was an interesting ride.  It is not your usual book and I liked that about it.  It is definitely in the darker read territory because of the tough subject matter it deals with at times.  Overall a very good book.

Absolutely loved this story. Very real and not like other books where authors pretend to know whatmakes a true biker. Good research on how life can really be within an MC. Gotta do a book on Flame and ky please!

This MC book is different from the other MC books out there. Styx fought for my heart and won. Not because of his "issue", but because he accepts it as a part of him. Mae, poor poor Mae. She's had a tough sheltered life. When they meet again 15 years later, the sparks fly! This is the 1st book I've read from this author and I will probably read more. The only problem I had was the use of the word "weren't". If you love MC books, this is a must read! Its about 320 pages and will there be a 2nd????

WOW! That’s exactly what I thought about It ain’t me, babe. From beginning until the end, it had me on my toes, wanting to know what was going to happen next and when it was going to happen. Once again Ms. Cole does NOT disappoint. I first became a fan of her writing when I read her series Sweet Home (another perfect writing of hers). Of course this book and sweet home are total opposites. I have to admit that I was a little ….nervous?…skeptical?… of whether or not I would enjoy this book. Before the book came out Ms. Cole gave a message to her fans explaining the reason behind this story line and why she found it important. I have to admit I myself have never read a story line like this one, though I myself know about this topic. It was well written and explained so well.  The way each character spoke and acted, was explained in the perfect amount of detail (it never dragged on like other story lines). The way it all flowed together was a great aspect to this book. It gave surprises I thought that I expected were correct, but BAM finding out something totally different. Now for the characters, they each had such a unique part to them all. What I enjoyed about each character was that they were never forgotten through the book (not that they could have been anyways). This is what I enjoy most about this author, she just knows what way to include each of the different characters. Books of other authors that I’ve read have included characters in their writing spontaneously and once they bop up again I have to stop and recall who they were and why they were significant. For It ain’t me, babe, that was simply not needed what so ever. Each character I could picture them, and I fell in love with each of them.  NEXT; If it could be called a “love triangle”, that was what I loved the most, she made Rider such an amazing person, so to say. I loved him and how he was with Mae. He was such a great guy but mysterious at the same time. I even caught myself thinking maybe she should stay with Rider. Styx’s character though very different from the other male protagonist I am used of, I came to ADORE & LOVE him. What a hunk! I love his relationship with the other hangmen. He was great at being a leader & was a fair one. The love that he had for his old lady, Mae, was perfect he protected her, even if it was from himself. The fact that he looked for her throughout all those year back, made him that much more of a great guy. Mae was a complete sweetheart, even though at times I wanted to just tell her to stop being to kind and listen. She was a great asset to the story,(obviously she was the main character ). She was timid and closed off at the beginning, but once she felt her freedom it was has if she “felt normal”. I loved the relationship that she had with Beauty and Letti it was perfect, the fact that they protected her and excepted her with open arms was so kind.  From beginning to end this book never gave me a sense of being bored. I never wanted to put down the book. The twist of it all took me by COMPLETE shock. I figured there had to be a connection, but not in this way. What I love the most of this book was the prologue. It was just perfect, there is no other word that describes it, I read it three times because I could not get enough of the sweetness, innocence and the pureness between those pages. The love scenes were beautiful and I loved them all. The love between Styx & Mae was so evident.  I enjoyed every single line written in black ink on those white pages. I do not want to say the ending is a cliffhanger because it is absolutely not, but it did keep me thinking of what else could/will/can happen. Do I think another series can come from this book, YES ABSOLUTELY ! I would love to know more of Styx & Mae, how’s life for Maes’ sisters. If anything will occur with Flame & Maddie (that book would be amazing), or with Ky & Lilah (I would definitely what that). They are all great characters that I would love to read about. The only thing that kept me thinking even more of a “what if ” or “I wonder if ”once I finished the story was whats’ going to happen with Cain? I still hesitate about what he is all about and what he’s thinking of doing? what will he do? If he sees what happened as a good think or a bad thing? Once again Tille Cole does not disappoint. She is an amazing author that knows how to write books that keep you on your toes, butterflies in her stomach, steamy scenes, just the perfect amount of love making scenes. Her detail and clear understanding of this topic was perfect (She helped me understand the terms and how everything worked) and caught my interest. I am looking forward to reading so much more of Tillie Cole. This book is definitely my FAVORITE book. I did not believe another book could ever transcend Sweet Home, but It Ain’t Me Babe did!! But its the same amazing author so I guess it is fine, haha. Thank you for an amazing read!!:)

For those who like books with a darker pinch, surely this series will be a good request. Merging fiction with real facts, Tillie Cole managed to deliver a brilliant narrative, even if the road is not always happy. River and Salome since very young deal with the dark side of humanity. The mute boy must learn to become a feared man, for that is the only way to survive in his world. She, whose beauty arouses masculine glances, will discover that sometimes evil lurks where least expected. Styx and Mae left behind who they used to be and concentrated on surviving. The mute boy grew up, is the president of Hades Hangmen and is mortal. But he never forgot that girl from the past, whose eyes still haunt him. Mae since she was a child suffers all kinds of unimaginable abuses. No longer able to live this life, she decides to run away, because freedom or death are better options than staying in the same existence. An outlaw biker and a vital piece to realize the prophecy that a religious cult so much believes. Is there a happy ending? The journey that the reader will embark on will be tense, sad, often heartbreaking. but it will be worth it. I loved Styx. The bad guy in the deep has a good heart. His inability to speak correctly, stuttering, bothers him. Only his father, his best friend and Mae have heard him speak. He communicates by signs, because he feels ashamed of his deficiency. Despite being dangerous and outlaw, he never forgot the girl he found crying so many years ago. His hard life was not able to change those feelings. When he meets her again, almost dying, he will do anything to protect her. Salome lived in Hell. Being raised within a religious cult, which is actually a disguised pedophile den, for being very beautiful, she was condemned as a Cursed Sister of Eve, that is, she should be purified to remove the demon that lives in her, because her beauty is a temptation for men. What she and the three other cursed girls have been through is just awful. When she manages to escape, she ends up going to stop in the club where the only boy who showed to care and was her first kiss is the president. The whole story of the cult is horrible. It's impossible not to find it all too wrong. The way this exploration is shown and even brainwashed using faith as an excuse is very interesting to keep up with. The traitor was astonishing, as well as the whole unfolding of the motifs. The secondary characters are interesting, both the members of the club, and the other girls of the cult. The romance between Styx and Mae is very beautiful. Although not the typical love story, these two broken people can understand each other and find comfort. There is no salvation or redemption, only the fact that even with so much bad, they found peace in each other's arms. And that's worth reading.

This is the most amazing novel I have read yet. It made me feel every emotion possible. I love that I cried an ocean and felt rage a well as peace and love. The most beautiful feeling is connecting emotionally and mentally with the characters. Thanks Tillie. Keep em coming.

I can't say enough good things about this book. It was the perfect bad boy read. It was crude in all the good ways not the make you cringe kind. It was controversial and had a lot of subject matter you don't always find. One of a kind for sure.

This can be a difficult read for some. The subject of abuse is prevalent throughout this book and may be a trigger for some. The subject was handled in the best way for the characters and done truthfully, in my opinion. It was difficult to put down. You will become invested in the characters. I have the rest of the series and can't wait to start them.

This is my first Tillie Cole read and I am now thinking why the heck have I waited so long to read one of her books considering I love MC books? Freaking loved it. Styx is the president of Hades Hangmen. Hes known as the Hangman mute because of a speech impediment that causes him to stutter and feel like a python is wrapped around his throat. So instead of speaking he uses ASL to communicate. There have only been 2 people in his life hes ever spoken to his father and his best friend Ky. Until he meets a black haired, wolf eyed little girl when he was 11 on the other side of a fence. Now 15 years later what are the chances that this girl would come back into his life? Salome aka Mae has been raised in a commune or cult believing that all on the outside was evil. Mae escapes one day after a horrific event and winds up severely injured on the MC compound. What happens when they realize who each other is, will it be too much. Can Mae be a part of the MC world after all she has gone through within the commune? I was addicted to this book and just could not stop reading it. There is so much that keeps you invested from page one all the way to the end. When you think all is right and there is nothing else that could go wrong you are thrown again for another whirl wind experience. Tillie knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm so ready to see what happens to Rider and hope he has his own book. Tillie has a new reader for life that is for sure.
