Author Norman E. Edelen wraps up the story begun in After a While You Wonder and Tuesday After Next.
It Don't Matter starts with a new "dead or alive" search for married, gorgeous DEA Agent Karen B. Doupchek, reportedly killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Doupchek's single, handsome Joint Task Force partner, Treasury Agent Kevin A. Moore, refuses to believe she is dead. Recounting hearing Karen, as an apparition, says to him on 9/11, "Wait for me, Kevin. I'm coming back to you."
Obsessed to find out what happened to Karen but unable to get help from the inside with government agencies that ought to know if she is dead, Kevin turns to the outside for help.
He turns to people connected with the JTF's target of interest, suspected drug laundering ex-L.A. cop Carl Quincy "Q" Sanes. It's a very high-risk quid pro quo that seems destined to fail.
Beguiling revelations, bizarre circumstances, and consequences with intriguing romantic twists make this a most intriguing read.
About the Author: Norman E. Edelen says he grew up in Indianapolis, but really grew up in the U.S. Air Force. An ex-Los Angeles cop, he wrote this atypical law enforcement story after incidentally meeting up with five old LAPD partners. He lives in Southern California. This is his third novel.
