It Was Always Her Choice Review I thoroughly loved “It Was Always Her Choice” by new author Susanne Lovely. It has so many different layers to it. Romance, Sex, Light BDSM, Intrigue and Mystery with the majority taking place in exotic Greece. What more could a person want? Shania and David both make choices that left me shaking my head; however to me, they were a pivotal part of the story. Above all, this is a story, not only with hot sex, (and boy is there some hot sex) but of love that has to be fought for and won. Many people say they can't give a 5 star rating because nothing is perfect. I disagree. If a book captures my attention, and leaves me wanting more, then it deserves a 5 star review and that is what this book delivered for me. This is Susanne Lovely’s first novel and I was really impressed. I loved the story and the writing. She really drew me in and made me connect with the characters. They captured my interest from the beginning, to a point where I wanted to scream at them on occasion for the decisions both rightly and wrongly made. To be invested like that a book must touch a chord and “It Was Always Her Choice” certainly did that for me. I fell in love with several of the characters and when I finished the book, all I could think is “I cannot wait for more”. I highly commend Susanne Lovely for a great debut novel and be assured I will be reading all future books by this author. In fact I am looking forward to a series based on the characters she has created thus far. Job Well Done! I loved it!

This was a delightfully presented story. I loved the descriptiveness that Susanne Lovely used throughout the book; it made everything come to life. I read this book over two days having to take a break because of the swell of emotions that overwhelmed me. I think every woman can relate to Shania's feelings of young love and that crushing pain of your first heartbreak. Shania's story was one filled with ups and downs and pitfalls that will have you gasping and crying as well as some chuckles and outright laughter. David never wanted to lose her and it shows. This book is a journey that they both had to take to grow up and to reach a conclusion. The quirks of life will have you wondering just what is going to happen on the next page, so much so you will not want to put the book down. Definitely a read for those over 18. this book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

This review was done by Hazel Hill a reviewer of Book Worms.  I was given a ARC copy of It Was Always Her Choice by Susanne Lovely for an  honest review. This is David and Shania's story. David is living with the Ridgeway family as a  9 year old foster child when they bring their baby daughter Shania home from the  hospital and he falls in love with the small bundle, sparking a life long bond.  As Shania grows she realizes her feelings for David go beyond that of sisterly  love and after a disastrous attempt to woo him at 14 the pair see less of each  other until just before Shania's 21st birthday. She makes her feelings clear and  despite David's reservations due to the darker side to his nature the pair share  a beautiful night where she gives him her virginity.  It was really after this that the book fell down for me, within 24 hours David  has gone from taking Shania's virginity to revealing his BDSM lifestyle and  sharing her with another DOM, breaking Shania's trust and her heart. This feels  rushed and doesn't make sense at this point. This betrayal causes Shania to flee to Greece to work in the family business  there where she hopes to heal and come to terms with losing David.  In Greece the book makes another strange turn when on her first day, Shania's  life is threatened and she becomes the focus of what appears to be a hate campaign.  Shania's character does mature and grow throughout the book and the bond she  shares with David is beautiful, their sexual chemistry is intense and the sex  scenes on the whole are both tastefully done and sensual and I found these to be  the books strongest point. There are plenty of hot alpha males and fans of BDSM will not be disappointed  with the varied scenes depicted. The book does get stronger as it goes on and  the ending is a happy if unexpected one. I feel however due to the sometimes odd  plot twists and lack of depth that I can only award it 3.5 stars.
