The animal kingdom gets center stage, in It’s a Jungle in Here. Tigers, leopards, lions and elephants share the same habitat as butterflies and Tucans. But, do they eat the same food? Author and Illustrator, Kristie Wilde has created a children’s book that delights the eyes and intellect. It’s a Jungle in Here abounds with her watercolor illustrations and whimsical designs. She uses her degree in Forestry and her love of Jesus to tickle the fancy of young readers and old, alike. Other books in her Joyful Creation Series include Made For a Purpose and So Great a Love. It’s a Jungle in Here contrasts animals to show the variety on our planet. Big and small, loud and quiet, all have a place in the ecosystem. But, Kristie turns the story to include all of us, because we all add variety to the world. A glossary of animals rounds out the book with tidbits of insight into their behavior and preferences. Did you know, “An Okapi’s tongue is long enough that they can clean their eyes with it!”? I chose the book to share with my grandchildren. Its pages are enticing with visually appealing storyline and it provides a beautiful reminder of God’s creativity. Get a copy for your family and watch them ooh and aah over the pages, too! I received this book free from the publisher through the BookCrash book review program, which requires an honest, though not necessarily positive, review.

With adorable artwork, and a great message, the book centers around teaching children to celebrate our differences. Reminding kids that God created us with our own strengths and gifts and that He loves us unconditionally. I loved the watercolor art in this book, the full-page illustrations are beautifully done. Knowing the author is also the illustrator makes me appreciate the art even more. The author has a knack for writing in such a way that young children can and will enjoy and understand but also that the adult reading the book won't cringe or be bored to tears. Most of the book is written for preschool age, but there are pages in the back that contain a glossary that talks about the animals mentioned in the book as well as the scriptures mentioned throughout the book. In closing, this is definitely a fun book to read, especially if your child loves animals. I look forward to reading the other books in this series as well as other books put out by the author. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I am a big fan of the Joyful Creation Series and this latest release by Kristie Wilde is no exception. The elephant on the cover is just so cute and looks like he is having fun splashing in the water. The book begins with, "God loves variety, so  . . . He made lots of it in the jungle!" and beautiful, realistic illustrations of butterflies. It then goes on to positively compare the differences between the various animals which God created. The animals mention include: butterflies, cats, frogs, elephants, chameleons, tropical birds, okapi, monkeys, and more! My favorite line is the final line in the story, "Whether you stand out or blend in, are loud or quiet, however you are . . . God is especially happy with how he made you!" I especially appreciated the racial diversity represented in the children riding in the boat on the last page of the story.  I also liked the added bonus of a two-page spread with little snippets of information about each of the animals featured in the book. Disclosure of Material: I received a complimentary copy of It's a Jungle in Here from the publisher through the BookCrash.com book review program, which requires an honest, though not necessarily positive, review. The opinions I have expressed are 100% sincere and my own.

Another book in the Joyful Creation Series, this book follows suit and fits right in. It is adorable in illustration, beautiful realistic images that are endearing and familiar. The story leads the reader through the idea that God loves variety and talks about various different jungle creatures and the unique properties of those depicted, from size to color to camouflage. Each page is simple in text and awash with illustration, drawing children in. There is so much to look at on each page that the reader spends much longer than text requires. I loved the story for its content and simplicity as well as the beautiful images filling each page. There was so much for me to talk about with my nature loving children. We especially appreciated the index at the back with the name and picture of animals depicted in the story as well as a bit of information about them. Also inluded are Bible verses supporting the creation story in relation to the animals. We enjoyed another of the Joyful Creation books and were glad to have the chance to review this one as well. I recommend it for its fun and converstation opportunities as well as its beauty and simplicity. * I was provided a free copy of this book through the Book Crash program in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I’ve read and reviewed several children’s books by Kristie Wilde. This one might just be my favorite. It shares a timely message of the importance and beauty of diversity, showing young readers, through examples of animals in the jungle, that each of us are different and God loves us all. It’s a Jungle in Here is the third book in the Joyful Creation Series. I’ve previously reviewed Made for a Purpose and So Great a Love (book one and two of the series.) Each book holds a powerful message and showcases this author’s passion to teach youngsters about God’s love. The theme of this book is celebrating our differences. Just as the jungle is filled with creatures of various sizes, colors, sounds, and shapes, the world we live in is filled with diverse people. God created each of us with our own strengths, gifts, and beauty, and He loves us unconditionally. The full-page watercolor illustrations contain colorful depictions of jungle flora, birds, and animals, with a succinct narrative that is easy to read and understand. A glossary is included, providing deeper explanations of the creatures mentioned in the story, with relative Scripture verses. The glossy softcover is durable and attractive, the illustrations are colorful and fun, and the message is so important. I received a complimentary copy of It’s a Jungle in Here from the publisher via BookCrash.

“Whether you stand out or blend in, are loud or quiet, however you are … God is especially happy with how He made you!” Kristie Wilde ends her children’s book, It’s a Jungle in Here. ~ What ~ Third in the Joyful Creation series, this unnumbered twenty-eight-page paperback targets children three to eight years old, especially those who like learning about God’s animals of the jungle. With no scary scenes, the book has colorful watercolor pictures that are broadly illustrated on every page. In this short tale, it is stressed that God made many unique and different animals, and we are also divinely and individually created by Him. Focusing on the jungle, butterflies, big cats, small frogs, huge elephants, hard-to-find chameleons, loud birds, quiet okapi, and various monkeys are beautifully depicted, showing their different features and characteristics. At the end of the book are eight educational paragraphs with more drawings of each animal as well as four written out Bible verses and the author’s biography. ~ Why ~ Having read and reviewed two prior books in this series, I was impressed again with the illustrator/author of this book. I like how she reminds us how God created and loves us all, no matter how different we look or act. I appreciate the detailed, intensely colorful artworks that keep a young one’s attention, while sometimes searching for hidden animals. Due to the illustrations’ backgrounds, the pictures encourage further dialogue about creatures that live in the jungle. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not like books about God and His creations will not appreciate this book. Beginner readers may struggle with some of the two- and three-syllable words. ~ Wish ~ I wish more children’s books like this were available for young ones to be taught the wonderful attributes of God and His amazing creations, including us. ~ Want ~ If you are looking for a children’s book that shows several different jungle animals, this contains beautiful pictures while honing in on the Almighty’s creative hand and His love for us. Thanks to Book Crash and the author for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
