There's nothing that Angelique Barbetta can't handle, no illness she can't recover from, not one item on her outrageous bucket list that she can't conquer–not even alligator wrestling! But after discovering her fiancé in a less-than-professional position with their perky assistant, even tough-as-nails Angelique needs a break. Her law firm sends her to Red River to work on a case that should be a piece of cake. Until she meets her sexy neighbor Blake Holloway…one of the proprietors who will lose everything if Angelique wins.

On opposite sides of a hostile legal battle–with a pair of Angelique's silk undies ending up in Blake's hands–undeniable chemistry swirls between them. As Blake shows Angelique just what Red River has to offer, her heart begins to melt for the people whose businesses make up the soul of the town. Can she put aside her feelings to win the case? Or will he convince her there's much more at stake than winning–like love?

Favorite Quotes: Like fine cut glass, her onyx eyes shimmered and held his, refusing to let go. A slender, toned arm warmed his palm, and his brain forgot how to form words. Well, we just want to see her find a nice man without having to use online dating... My friend Edna signed up on one of those senior citizens' sites in Boca Raton, and it didn't end well. They all just wanted her body. Nona has a date. Want to come along and eavesdrop for entertainment? We sit at a different table, and she tells the guy I'm the maid and you dad's the chauffeur. My Review: I adored this opposites-attract love story. Shelly Alexander's It's In His Touch is my favorite type of book. It was deftly written and well paced, with flawed yet endearing characters, clever, and slyly amusing. Initially, Angelique was a typical shark lawyer - aggressive, competitive, detached, and only interested in getting the win and getting out. Angelique has sworn off men after catching her fiancé in the act with her assistant and now calls her own girly parts "The Land Of The Dead." However, as the onion peeled - she became infinitely more interesting as an insecure breast cancer survivor, betrayed fiancé, loving daughter, good friend, dog owner, volunteer, and community member. Blake was a young country doctor who was deeply in debt with student loans but trying to save his town and his new business. They are on opposing sides in a lawsuit, neighbors, and undeniably attracted to each other. The plot was interesting, relevant, and entertaining. The writing was wickedly humorous, insightful, engaging, and deliciously steamy. I am more than eager to see what happens in book three.

After the worst year of her life Angelique Barbetta needs a break. So when her law firm sends her to Red River to handle a case for them she jumps at the opportunity. If there's one thing Angelique knows it's that she's damn good at her job. In the past year she's dealt with breast cancer and a cheating fiancee. This case, piece of cake. That is until she meets Blake Holloway. He's one of the townspeople who stands to lose everything if they lose the case. Too bad the attraction between them is so strong. As Blake tries to show Angelique all that is good about Red River and exactly what her client is trying to take, feelings begin to blossom which leaves Angelique with some big decisions to make. This was a delightful story that is very well written. It took me a while to really warm up to Angelique but I loved Blake right from the start. It did have parts of the story that seemed to drag a little but nothing too bad. Overall a very good read and I would definitely recommend it.
