It's In The Duke's Kiss by Julie Johnstone

Lady Emmaline Radcliffe always knew she never wanted to marry a man who embraced the rules of Society. But when her mother threatens to secure a suitable match for Emma if she cannot make one on her own, Emma sets out to determine if her girlhood infatuation is the love she's been looking for. Nathaniel did save her life once, after all. But when she finds herself in the arms of the gentleman's brother--the serious and proper Duke of Blackbourne--she begins to question all she ever thought she desired.

Lucian, the Duke of Blackbourne, is tired of playing keeper to his irresponsible brother. He vows to quit, but when his brother resolves to seduce the impetuous Lady Emmaline, Lucian knows he must save his foolish brother and the innocent debutante from themselves. Yet his plan to intercede goes awry when he finds himself drawn to the woman who is everything he was positive he didn't want in a wife.

But his brother won't give up so easily, and soon Lucian's well-intentioned plans are revealed. Now to keep Lady Emmaline's heart he must prove that he's truly not the stuffy, sneaky duke he seems to be.

Julie Johnstone is one of my very favorite historical romance authors. Each time I read one of her books I remember why. Her books are AWESOME! It's In The Duke's Kiss is no exception. I read this book in one setting because I could not but it down. Lady Emmaline Radcliffe is a strong, independent, adventurous, smart, and maybe just a tad bit mischievous young lady. I found that instant connection with Emma that makes reading a great story all that much more wonderful. Emma is completely sure she has found the man she wishes to marry. She's carried feelings for Nathan since she was a child. However when she starts to spend time with Nathan and his brother Lucian, the Duke of Blackbourne she starts to question her thoughts. Nathan is one of those boys that is a total playboy and isn't quite ready to settle down. He is use to his brother stepping in to take care of any trouble he might find himself in. Lucian is the serious brother that has a lot to deal with. He wants his brother to grow up and stop causing trouble. Lucian is smart, handsome, and it turns out he too might be just a little mischievous. I loved the first time that Lucian and Emma have a chance to visit. They have this instant connection that is reveled little by little. I really enjoyed this story. It was so much fun watching Lady Emma understand her changing thoughts and feelings. I also thoroughly enjoyed watching Lucian find himself in a relationship that he didn't see coming. Watching these two get to know each other and watching the attraction form made for a wonderful read. If you are looking for a quick historical romance with laughter, a breath stealing moment or two, with characters that are captivating, and a storyline that is intriguing then you need to grab It's in the Duke's Kiss by Julie Johnstone. This is part of the Danby Regency series but never fear it will stand on it's own just fine. You will get a chance to see a few characters from previous Danby Regency series books if you have had a chance to read them. I was given the opportunity to read this marvelous story and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

I must admit that I love any story that involves the Duke of Danby, as they are always great fun! In this particular novella, it isn't so much the Duke starts the match, but he does play a hand in helping it along. Lady Emmaline Radcliffe doesn't want her mother to marry her off to some boring man, so she sets her sights on Nathanial, the rakish brother of Lucian, the Duke of Blackbourne. However, as she spends more time with Nathan, she realizes that perhaps, it's Lucian who may be the better match for her. Lucian, thoroughly immersed in his responsibilities of being a duke and taking care of his irresponsible brother, doesn't have time to involve himself in looking for a wife. Or so he thought until he saved Emma from a perilous situation. Now he finds that he must also save her from his brother. But will he fall in love at the same time? This was a delightful short story. Ms. Johnstone does a fantastic job of immersing the reader quickly into the lives of both Lucian and Emma. One cannot help but root for them from the very beginning despite both characters' reluctance to put aside their preconceived notions themselves.

It's in the Duke's Kiss by Julie Johnstone is a fantastic Novella. *Previously published in Thwarting the Duke (When the Duke Comes to Town, Book 2)* An absolute delight to read! She had me captured throughout the entire story. The H/H are engaging as well as, the secondary characters. The storyline is unique and captivating, with a wide range of emotions. The reader will make you wish to scream, cry, maybe, kick a certain character and smile, or I did, at least. Ms. Johnstone never disappoints me! She has a way of capturing the reader's heart and thoroughly captivating them. Highly recommended! While a Novella, only 150+ pages, it is packed full of deliciousness. An enjoyable and very satisfying read! I can hardly wait for her next grand adventure! Rating: 4.5 Heat rating: Mild Reviewed by: AprilR

I adored this wonderful written novella by Ms. Johnstone. Emma has been in love with Nathaniel since she was eight. She was sure that he was the one for her, even though he is quite the rogue. Nathaniel's brother, Lucian, the Duke of Blackbourne, takes his responsibilities seriously and is certain that he does not want a wife that is not as serious as him. Emma's mother wants to see her married and tamed of her wild ways. Will Emma find the love of her dreams or will her dreams change course? I highly recommend you read this delightful novella to find out! I received an ARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed it.
