Maureen thinks the only remarkable thing about her is her name: Every farmer in town has a cow called Maureen! Maureen is so tired of getting teased for it. Then one day, she hears a famous yodeler on the radio and her life changes. Maureen escapes into the bush, and atop the tallest tree, teaches herself Swiss yodeling. Little does she know, folks in town hear her, and enter her into a radio talent contest…

This book is based on the true story of the author’s part-deaf grandmother, who became an Australian national treasure.

This is a beautiful heartfelt story! Erin's story of her Grandmother is wonderful. I so enjoyed hearing how Maureen got her courage and strength , from her yodelling! Yodelldehooo! Tisha's illustrations are lovely, lively and bright with a natural fun element of movement and life. Highly recommend this heartfelt children's picture book. A true delight, fun read and joy for all.

What a great book to help encourage little ones to push through their fear and find their voice. Lovely story and art, too!

Yodel-lay-hee-WHO? Why, Maureen, of course! I’ve Got a Cow Called Maureen is a unique story of determination that changes a little girl’s life. Everyone is good at something, you just have to discover what it is and practice, practice, practice.

I've Got A Cow Named Maureen is a celebration of owning one's own special name, and she is not a cow. Erin Le Clerc knocks this tale out of the pasture as Maureen comes to claim her uniqueness as a young yodeler gaining fame and taking charge of her own individuality. Just a positive and fun read with illustrations that sing. This story is based on the real life achievements of an Australian Swiss yodeler.

Maureen feels average. She hasn't found her special "thing," and every time she goes to town, she's told by one of the farmers that he's got a cow called Maureen. What's a girl to do? Well, Maureen goes to her Thinking Tree and practices yodeling. What she doesn't know is that her beautiful voice carries into town, and the townspeople love her voice enough to enter Maureen in a contest. Now, farmers don't compare her to their cow. Instead, they know her for her champion yodeling skills! A wonderful true story that shows that everyone is uniquely talented. Fun, colorful illustrations make this lovely book even more enjoyable.
