This is such an enjoyable book. It's a nice read until the middle when you think it's over and then realize there's more, and then another chapter and another. Which gradually builds from a good story to a great one. Eventually, you catch your self thinking during free time " I should go and check on Ivey and see what she's up to..." The writing really draws you in with good flow that reads like a movie in your head. I can clearly see each quirky charming character as they come to life. If I had a stack of these signed by the author I could easily see the investment out performing my stock portfolio. Good Job!

The world of Aether is filled with wondrous (even dangerous) characters. Ivey became my instant heroine and with every page I couldn't help but cheer her on. It's hard for me not to connect with a character I see so much of myself in, but the great thing about Ivey is that everyone will love her personality and courage. The story itself draws you in and it refuses let you go, I read it from the time it was put in my hands until three am the next morning, hanging on every one of Cheryl's written word. The author herself is delightful and witty, I've never met someone I felt so connected to immediately. Overall I know anyone who loves adventure with a little bit of a love story added in will be addicted just as I was.

Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I found myself reading aloud my favorite lines to anyone who was in the library. From page 191, I especially liked: “The angels; look how they guide our souls into the heavens.” The blue one barked loudly. “You are still among the living, and I am no man’s angel, so do not be insulting, Mr. Fenchurche.” Ivey and the Airship is the first book in our library catalog with the subject heading steampunk, but I hope it won’t be the last. I can’t wait to see more of Caven and learn what flower Winora and Arvel’s baby will be named after.

I had no idea what Ivey and the Airship was about when I turned the first page. I am thrilled to report it is an amazing, delightful ride; one that I could not quit. Ivey, in her science fiction Victorian era, is a captivating young woman with a strong spirit and tremendous zest for learning who finds her world ever so confining. As she embarks on her quest for independence, the story just gets better and better with romance, action, and an airship full of delectable friends and foes. I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter in her adventures. I was so sad when I found myself on the last page and the adventure was at an end...for now. I was delighted to hear that Part 2 is in the works. I can’t wait for another sleepless night to catch up with Ivey, Miles, the waterdog, Cemaria, and any other port of call that Ivey wants to take me to. Cheers to Ms. Ammeter for creating this epic world.
