Iyanwa

When 12-year-old Izzy watches the red and blue lights fade into the night, she faces a hard truth: there will be no search parties. Her brother, Lucas, may never be found. If he's to make it home, it will be up to her. Armed with a backpack of peculiar objects, her threadbare stuffed animal, Elliot, and a promise to Nana, Izzy sets out to a mysterious island shrouded in legend-a place where reality blurs with magic.

Guided by ghostly figures and newfound friends, Izzy uncovers a world where whispers ride the wind and secrets lie hidden beneath the surface. The island presents a choice at every turn, one that could lead to Lucas - or the unknown. Time is running out, and Izzy must summon every ounce of courage, wit, and determination to find him before he's lost forever... just like her sister years ago. Will Izzy's choices lead her to the brother she's searching for, or will they push her deeper into the island's perilous grip?

"Alone, we are nothing. Together, we are everything."

About the Author

C. J. Biggin is the author of IYANWA, a middle-grade fantasy adventure that explores life and death, self-determination, and the unbreakable bond between siblings.Born and raised in North London, UK, Biggin didn't start writing until later in life. Before that, he told stories through music, performing at venues from London to California. He has written a play, had songs featured in films, and illustrated numerous books-including the front cover of Highlights magazine. He never expected his creative journey to lead to a story like IYANWA, but everything changed when he sketched a little boy with a backpack full of twigs, perched atop a fox. When he's not writing, you'll find him behind the piano composing melancholic songs (because he can't play fast) or designing award-winning experiences. He lives in San Diego, California, with his wife and two children.
