About the Author

Emily is a Midwestern Gal, but could be anywhere as you read this. She gypsy's the country, as well as south of the border. Adventure feeds her soul, and offers great writing material. She loves kids and working with kids, but can only handle caring for four-legged furry friends. A crazy dog and laid back cat have trained her to be their partner in life. Vices include Swedish Fish, ignoring chores in favor of reading, and caring too much for people in her life. She chose to write this bio in third person as she is an Aries, and found writing in first person ended up with her writing an excessively long life story. Aries like to talk about themselves. It is something Emily is working on being more mindful of.

I wouldn't call this a book, but only because length. It was only 48 pages. I liked hearing J's side of things. I am excited to see what comes next.

You definitely have to read Steel and Ice before your read this, while S&I was from Elle's view this is all from J's point of view and while many of the scenes are the same seeing them through someone else's eyes gives them a totally different perspective. I liked J from S&I but now I understand him more, you get to see what made him who he is. And how decisions even just one bad one that can be made as a teenager can have such wide spread effects, but that sometimes it's not just one bad decision but one slightly bad that leads to a little worse and you are on a slippery track that leads to a bad life. That's where J is when he mets Elle in a black hole with no light then all of a sudden he has light and purpose, but the question is what is he going to do with it, will he choose Elle or the darkness, but once you've seen the light how can you let it go. Once again Emily has left us at an OMG moment I don't know how she does it but it's done with such skill that we barely complain just hurriedly await the next installment. All the characters are again bought to life with such a deft hand that not one of them is forgettable and good or bad you will remember them all as they have become so real in your mind. I received a free copy for an honest review.

I loved getting into J's head. We didn't get much of his personality on Steel & Ice and this one you get to know all about him and how he feels about Elle. Although there wasn't as much steam, it was was full of swoon. This also made it more of an MC book than the first one.
