About the Author
Charlotte BrontË was born in 1816 and grew up in a family that had a great passion for literature and talent for writing. She and her two sisters, Emily and Anne, began writing at young ages and pseudonymously published a collection of poetry in 1846. Immediately following, the sisters transitioned to writing novels, and in 1847 Charlotte published Jane Eyre under the pen name Currer Bell. It was quickly recognized as a work of genius and to this day remains one of English literature's most beloved classics.
