Pros: Worksheet/activities!!!!! Reading Comprehension Learn Hiragana and proper sentence structure for polite/informal Japanese Glossary/Index Answer guide Cons: You may not know how to correctly pronounce things from reading alone My opinion: Japanese from Zero is probably one of the funnest ways I've ever tried learning Japanese. I always wanted a book that had activities and worksheets for comprehension but I just couldn't find them until I found this book. It is much cheaper than the Rosetta Stone and to me, it was more effective than the other Japanese language books I wasted money on. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn. Whether you are a total beginner or know a few things, this is a great start for anyone interested in learning a new Language!

It's a very didactic book, it is concise, has information about grammar but it's not overwhelming, it has many exercises, so far I really like it. I also bought the "Japanese Hiragana & Katakana for Beginners" book, so I every day I read/work on both books. I definitely recommend both books!
