About the Author

Jodi Lea Pflaumer grew up in Indiana. She attended college at Carson-Newman College in East Tennessee majoring in elementary education where she graduated in 1992. She received her Masters of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University.
While in college, she started pondering a "one day" writing dream. After graduating, she returned to her historic hometown on the banks of the Ohio River. In 1996, she started her career as an elementary teacher. She began teaching third grade at Southwestern Elementary in Hanover, Indiana.
She's been teaching third grade for over 20 years.
Her dream of writing continued, but the responsibilities of teaching and, to be honest, fear of failure kept her from taking the step. From children's picture books, to chapter book series, to nonfiction writing, she's pondered all in her dream brainstorming.
Finally, in May of 2018, she set a goal for herself to make the "One Day" dream happen during her time away from school that summer. This is her first attempt to become a published author.
Her 23rd third grade class enjoyed reading this story on the first day of school after learning a bit about their teacher's pet. Pflaumer hopes to write many more books as she continues to follow her passion as an elementary teacher.
