How to explain... how to explain.... while i love the characters and the book itself is good I felt that too much was left out. How did Jaz meet her bondmates for the first time? Was it because of the truedream or did she forget that when she woke up like Casey did in the first book? How did she become an ambassador? What was her first time on the ship like? This book left me with more unanswered questions as such. It felt like im reading the second part of a novel with a minor summary of the first. (Spoiler warning : If you have not read this book please read no further...you have been warned) I loved her meeting with her newest husband and how the rumors affected his judgement at first. Oh! How could I forgret about the descriptions of the ship and the kelp forest with its jellyfish. The artist in me was just itching to sketch it all out! Lets not forget how hot the sex scenes where either. You got talent and the first book was and still is one of my favorites. I've already preordered Paige's story and can't wait for it to come out. Im just hoping its as detailed in its content as the Casey's book was but if it isn't i'll still love it all the same.

The book was good but for $2.99, it was only 73 pages and my money was not well spent.

For only being around 80 pages this story didn't leave me unfulfilled. Really good read I'm enjoying this series.

Short but a good read

I really enjoyed this story. What I really missed though was the huge leap from the event to already being on the ship and bonded. Where it picked up was terrific and moved the story along as well as some deliciously described nookie. 132 pages plus a preview (postview?) of 'Casey's Warriors'. On to Paiges' book! cjbevil

~ 3 Jaz’s Warriors Stars ~ Jaz’s Warriors is a novella #1.5 in the Bondmates series by Ann Mayburn. This was a very short novella ending at around 67-70%. The rest of the book is filler with the first chapter of Casey's Warriors and author/book promotions. We meet Jaz in Casey’s Warriors. I liked her the moment she was introduced. She’s got spunk and is very friendly to all the new arrivals. She already has two husbands, so she understands the culture differences and shock of having more then one man. She also plays a major role in helping the earth women who are brought aboard the Kadothian Reaping Ship adjust to the new lifestyle. As for the story it’s short, quick, and very steamy. We get a little tension between a few people, the rumors going around are meant to sabotage the bonding of earth women to the alien men, and a small conflict arises that Jaz’s administrative duties must resolve. All of this is happening while she is intruded to and trying to bond with Tandar whom Mavet one of her husbands is blood brother too. He wants her to choose Tandar as a third husband. We also see a few previous characters from the first book pop in and a new character is introduced that will be featured in Page’s Warriors. The sex scenes are very hot, very steamy, and well written. I enjoyed Jaz’s Warriors. I would have liked it to be a full book. I felt it could have been made longer, but with novella’s we just get a taste of the world and characters. It was a nice addition to the series. I am curious to read Page’s Warriors. I liked the book and will re-read it. Short story to tide you over until the next book came out. Nikki Mann

Aliens amping up the heat... Jazmine Brooks, Earth Ambassador to the Kadothians never expected her Masters in Couple’s Therapy to be used in quite the way it was. Since she married her two Kadothian husbands she has spent her time helping other Earth women acclimate to another culture and navigate the complexities of a polyamorous marriage, something she doesn’t have the most experience with herself. Nothing in her background as a preacher’s daughter from Harlem prepared her for the very openly sexual nature of the Kadothian culture. On the other hand, her experience as an African American woman has given her a double dose of exposure when it comes to prejudice, something the other women from Earth may not have as much experience with when they come up against species prejudice in their new lives. Her very background and experience makes her perfect in her position as Ambassador. Something that has drawn the enmity of one of the Kadothian elders. The fact that the guy is an absolute jerk and seems to have married a very vain and vapid woman with a major self-indulged personality pushes Jaz just a tad too far one time too many and puts her in the crosshairs of scrutiny. Not something she needs on the day she is to meet her potential third husband. The Kadothian culture is built around blood brother relations where the brothers are sexually involved and typically marry one woman who becomes the matriarch of their family. The matriarch is the central binding factor and key to saving the men from sinking into a beastial state of craziness resulting from the psychic natures. Millenium ago, the women of the Kadothian species were corrupted and became the embodiment of evil. To combat the issue, the men’s reproductive capabilities were altered so that they can only produce male children. Now, they can only mate with women of other species. Earth women are their potential salvation. Jaz’s mates, Mavet and Xentix are totally devoted to Jaz. They are also very protective and at times withhold crucial information in their attempt to coddle and protect. Little do they know how much potential damage flying blind can cause. Xentix also has another blood brother and at the beginning of Jaz’s Warriors the three are awaiting his arrival on the space station. Where Xentix and Mavet are both healers, Tandar is all warrior. While Xentix and Mavet play their part in this story (and may I say their parts are very hot) it is more a tale of how Tandar and Jaz meet and bond while dealing with the complexities of Kadothian culture and prejudice. As the physical heat increases between Tandar and Jaz, her mates bring every ounce of their considerable psychic heat into play. Let’s just say things become rather hot and steamy between the two, let alone the four when their relationship is cemented. Jaz’s Warriors is a fairly quick read that I really enjoyed. If you are looking for a bit of steamy sci-fi romance then Jaz’s Warriors definitely qualifies. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

This is the second book in a series which I haven't read, but that in no way diminished my enjoyment of this short but spicy Science Fiction read. The story starts with the invasion of Earth, and then jumps forward to when Jaz is already a Matriarch, mated to two and meeting a potential third. Things are done very differently in this world, and some human females are having trouble adapting. Jaz's counselling experience is able to help her and others to cope with a way of living and loving. Because I haven't read the first book, I'm not sure if Jaz is mentioned in that, or how she met husbands one and two. This isn't a negative, it's just that this is one fast-paced story so I would like to know more about these characters, just to understand all aspects of the story. If you are after a short and steamy sci-fi romance with multi partners, then I can definitely recommend this one. * I received this book from Barclay Publicity in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
