Review Beautifully written and illustrated. I love how each of the pictures draws you into the scripture that is being taught. Also love how this book grows with your child. This gives them a wonderful opportunity to keep learning and ask more questions. Great section at the end for the adults.

Jesus Invites Me continues the Knowing My God series by Callie Grant. This book focuses on Jesus’ words from Mathew 11:28-30. What I like about these books is they take the scripture verse and break it down into lessons that a child can understand. For example when Jesus says to take my yoke upon you, Callie Grant gives a great explanation for understanding that word and phrase. This book is full of photographic pictures that are relevant to the scriptures and ones that any child would enjoy looking at. Again with her signature style, there are For Your Grownups and a What Do You Think pages located in the back to continue the lesson. I received a copy of this book for free The Book Club Network. I was not required to provide a positive review and all views expressed are my own.

Jesus Invites Me Knowing My God series: A Learn book By Callie Grant Art by Missi Jay Instilling an early knowledge of Jesus that will grow with your child and family is what is so lovely about these books. Jesus Invites Me focuses on the verses from Matthew 11:28-30 in which we are invited by God (Jesus) to bring the burdens in our lives and share them with Him. This is a promise that all can take to heart from the youngest child to the oldest adult. How often do we have an offer to help us carry the stresses of the day and all we have to do is share our need with God? Every other page shares a portion of the Scripture while expounding on what this passage means. The facing page has an illustration which conveys this passage as well. The book includes, in the final portion, guidance for parents on how to engage their children for their age (baby, toddler, and child). A delight that is perfect for family devotions and would make the perfect gift for new or expecting parents. I was provided a review copy of this book by the author through TBCN/BookFun with the understanding that a positive review would not be an expectation and that all opinions expressed would be my own.

“Jesus Invites Me” by Callie Grant is a wonderful board book. This book takes the verse of Matthew 11:28-30 and breaks it up into pieces on each page. Each page has a portion of the verse then at the bottom, it is explaining that portion of the verse in “everyday language”. The whole book is illustrated with pictures of real life children and animals. This book is part of the “Knowing My God” series. I really like this series. I don’t have any small children or grandchildren, but if I did, I would definitely invest in this series. It puts “Knowing God” in an easy to understand manner for young children. I also love board books since they are so sturdy for little children. If you have young children or young grandchildren, I would definitely recommend this book. "I was given the book by Book Fun (The Book Club Network) and here is my honest review."

This beautifully designed children’s board book is a wonderful way for an adult to interact with a child to teach the meaning of Matthew 11:28-30. Each page is one phrase of these verses and invites the child to capture the sounds of the words as well as to see the pictures for understanding. The author has a marvelous gift of helping the adult to connect through “telling and asking” – or by giving information as well as letting the child express his/her thoughts of the text to show that comprehension has taken place. This book would make a fantastic gift as well as just purchased by the parents for their own children.

Jesus Invites Me by Callie Grant is a wonderful book. It’s geared toward infants through preschoolers, but the adults reading the stories to the children will get as much out of the experience. Beautifully written with gorgeous, engaging drawings that capture the attention of the kids and holds it until the very end. "I was given the book by Book Fun (The Book Club Network) and here is my honest review."

"Jesus Invites Me" is part of the "Knowing My God" series by Callie Grant. This colorful board book is published by Graham Blanchard and the art is provided by Missi Jay. Scripture from Matthew 11:28-30 is the focus of this delightful children's book. Once again author Grant has done a fabulous job with her beautiful teaching books. The book has a colorful photograph on the left page and on the right page a stick drawing, bible verse, and meaning of it with a question for interaction. The right pages are different brightly colored pages and the photographs on the left page have such engaging picturing of children, toddlers, baby, and even oxen that kids will enjoy just looking at them. The book ends with an invitation to say yes it Jesus and a page for "grown ups". It uses Psalm 16:11 to encourage parents and others to help children learn about God and Jesus. Supplying suggestions for baby, toddler, and a little older child it closes with a "what do you think" page that asks "when do you feel tired?" among others. I would highly recommend this inspiring book for infants to children age 7. It is one that opens the door for many conversations about Jesus. Children will love the pictures, drawings, and questions. They will learn scripture. Any Sunday School or Christian preschool would benefit from this lovely book. It would make the perfect gift. I rated it 5 out of 5 stars. I received a copy of this book from the Book Club Network for my honest review.

Jesus Invites Me is part of the Knowing My God series of board books geared to children from 0-7 yrs of age. Written by Callie Grant and beautifully illustrated by Missi Jay, this sturdy beginner book shares God's Word. Jesus Invites Me is centered on verses from Matthew 11 where Jesus says "come to me...and I will give you rest." There is a brief paragraph to explain each phrase by phrase section of the passage. Bold colored photographic pictures will delight the youngest child and the suggested questions will help connect the scripture to a child's life and to keep the interest of toddlers and beginning readers. A beautiful book to grow with your child. Excellent choice for home and for church nurseries. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This is absolutely beautifully written and illustrated book, and I couldn't be happier with it. Its target age is certainly toddler through about kindergarten, but even I found myself enjoying it. This is one of those books that you want to sit down and enjoy with your little one. Don't settle for an e-book (like I read) unless you have a full-color e-reader. This is a book that is meant to engage all of the senses while illustrating a beautiful passage of Scripture. Instill the love of the Word of God early in your children, and this book will certainly aid your endeavors. I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
